30 May - 1 June 2025 | Ragley Hall, Warwickshire | www.midlandsairfestival.com/tickets

The Midlands Air Festival is proud to welcome one of the cornerstones of the UK air display industry, Sally B the majestic B17 World War two bomber. It is almost unbelievable that this superbly restored classic aircraft has been flying for multi millions of aviation audiences in the UK and abroad for 50 years!

2025 is the 50th anniversary of the arrival in the UK of Sally B and we will be giving her a warm welcome to celebrate. This remarkable feat is down to Elly Sallingboe who decided to proceed with the Sally B project when her long term companion Ted White was lost in an accident during the Malta air rally. In fact Sally B carries the yellow and black chequer paint scheme on one of her engines as a memorial to Ted.

Sally B was originally restored as an official flying memorial to the 79,000 American aircrew lost during the second world war and still does to this day. Elly’s battle to keep this big bird in the air is legendary and she has had a constant struggle to find finance, spares, insurance and navigate all of the thousands of regulations and tiny day to day tasks involved with keeping a large four engine aircraft in the air for half a century. Early on in the Sally B story, Elly also created the magnificent Great Warbirds Air Show at West Malling in Kent, which proved to be the prototype for classic Warbirds shows worldwide.

We will be giving more technical details in a second post on Sally B soon but right now we suggest you get your tickets as they will never be as cheap as they are now and we always sell out on all three days. Children under 13 are currently free, as is standard parking. Premium parking is nearly sold out already so don’t hang about! You wont want to miss this magnificent big bird, arriving to her signature tune of ‘Midnight Serenade’ by Glen Miller and more than a few tears appearing in the corner of many eyes.

Wake up at the back there! Its time to tell you about another one of our high energy aerobatics displays at the 2025 Midlands Air Festival. You will be blown away by Chris Burkett in his hi tech Extra 300 aircraft!

Chris will be hurtling around the Ragley sky with some astounding unlimited aerobatics, rolls, spins and loops, with some more manoeuvres so extreme there are no names for them, including an incredible end over end tumble.

His extra is powered by a 315 HP 6 cylinder Lycoming engine at speeds of up to 250mph in a dive. It can withstand + or - 10G which is more than even the most experienced pilot can stand without a G suit.

Chris is a renowned international display pilot and also the CEO of Flow Solutions , a company that solves aerodynamic problems for the aviation industry and F1 motor racing teams.

The Midlands Air Festival is an all advance ticket event and there are strictly no tickets available at the gate, so get your tickets as soon because we always sell out on all three days of the show. Currently children under 13 are completely free and standard parking is also free. Tickets for all three days are already selling fast and premium parking is running very low. Where are we so far?

We said there would be a bit of a theme. So far seven of the acts we've announced so far have never displayed at Old Buckenham.

We will have a total of 20 acts each day. So far every act we've announced will appear on both days.

We've announced eleven acts so far and those eleven alone would make for one simply spectacular airshow.

With 55% of the lineup known, what does the other 45% look like? You'll find out in March but you can expect more debuts, surprises and a truly epic milestone or two.

In a change to previous years we are likely to announce ALL the remaining acts in six weeks or so AND there's also the slight curve ball of what act means. An act can be a single aircraft. Or it could be four, like the Stampes, seven like the Ravens or XX like the Spitfires (stay tuned, there's more than two). Who can say? So whilst there's 'only' another nine acts to reveal, there's a lot more aircraft and some haven't been here before.

You can also expect that we'll sell out earlier than ever - all trade space has gone, ticket sales are setting yet another record for this point in the calendar. And we've got many things up our sleeve.....you really, really won't want to miss this one.

TRUST US, WE WILL SELL OUT BOTH DAYS!
