Flying into my ninth year, this week I received my renewed CAA drone permissions for the year ahead, my ninth consecutive year of commercial drone work.

Aside from flying radio controlled helicopters around, this was my first ‘proper’ drone back in January 2015, the Parrot Bebop, how things have changed.

I immediately loved the new ways of filming drones offered, and so I did my training and exams in the summer that year to be able to do it commercially and gain a PFAW (Permission for aerial work) as it was back then.

It was still a relatively niche thing in 2015, but drones have become an invaluable tool for me since, and I still find them great fun!
