Further progress in my exploration of creating underwater creatures (Nublins) and environments using Lightwave 3D animation software. All elements were rendered in-camera using the native Lightwave 3D renderer, with post filters added using After Effects The whole scene setup is a combination of several MDD's for the different motions of the single, base creature mesh which was animated multiple times using bones and morph targets and saved out as an MDD file, a whole lot of instancing, hypervoxel floating debris, nonlinear fog and volumetric lighting with an animated image texture 'gobo' for the caustic water lighting effect. The volumetric pass was rendered seperately, which greatly reduced render times. Subtle camera shake was added in After Effects as well as diffuse, color grading, curves, grain and abberation effects. Logo, music and sound effects also added in After Effects. ZIZZONA PIZZA Animated Logo This logo animation was created for Zizzona Pizza in Sheffield. Bluespec took the provided bitmap logo and re-created it in vector format using Affinity Designer before splitting it into individual layers and animated it using After Effects. Sound effects were layered along with music and added to the After Effects project. The animation was then re-timed to sync with the music. Turn Off Your Bloody Phone - Film4 Frightfest Ident

Hi Everyone. Share time again. This time, an Ident for Film4 Frightfest - The Horror Film Festival. This short ident was created by The Springhead Film Company as a homage to the movie SCANNERS and features Visual Effects by me here at Bluespec Digital Media. The main elements of the effects (jaw bits, blood, brain pieces and a digital version of the actors head, were created using LightWave 3D and comped together using Adobe After Effects with some squirty blood footage. Sound and final grade was handled by the Springhead team. 3 days total time spent on this effect including revisions and rendering. Starring actors Sam Gittins and Rosie Day. MyJourney Wokingham - Animated Promo

Hi Folks. Here's some more project 'Show & Tell' from Bluespec Digital Media This animated promo was created for Wokingham Council to support their My Journey initiative for greener travel to work and back. I was supplied the artwork from their existing campaign graphics as well as a storyboard to follow, which I pulled apart in Adobe Illustrator to produce the motion. The animation was mostly created in After Effects with some 3D elements created in Lightwave3D and mixed in. Lightwave3D & After Effects - Lakeside Sunset 01

A quick test of animated water using Lightwave 3D. A single plane with deformed mesh and multiple Crumple and Coriolis procedural textures applied on the bump channel. The skyline is a spherical image map on a hemisphere. Work in progress images and wireframes are in the comments. Once rendered, I took it into After Effects for some glow, grain and blur and a little audio to sell the shot. Render times were around 2.50 per frame at 1080 HD with 3 pass motion blur and 16 samples max. TDP Ltd - Recycling Process - Lightwave 3D and Adobe After Eff...

This animation and all elements within were created from scratch using Lightwave 3D, then edited and finished using Adobe After Effects. It is a very simplified animation showing how everyday plastic waste is taken from domestic recycling bins then converted into solid 'planks' to be made into recycled furniture and structures by TDP Ltd in Derbyshire, UK. The project took 2 weeks to turn around from initial concept to final production. I produced all aspects of this animation including concept, 3D modelling, animation, sound recording & design, editing, final grade and output. I was supplied with a simple diagram to illustrate the process and I took it from there.
