It'll be interesting to follow the progress of this... Brightlingsea is always so welcoming to visiting sailors!

A new development at Colne Marina, first approved for planning in 1976, is set to bring job opportunities to Brightlingsea, Essex, as well as clean up and reinvigorate its creek. The Morgan Marine project, now in the public consultation stage, will add 25 moorings, with the existing 90 re-formatted....

Important advice for paddlers and boarders...

The RDA (River Deben Association) has become concerned that some of the newcomers to canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding may be unaware of their impact on nesting and over-wintering birds on the Deben. We have therefore worked with the RSPB, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Suffolk Coasts and Heaths AONB and consulted with Natural England to come up with a notice to alert people to the particularly sensitive areas on our river and to provide something of a code for canoeists, kayakers and SUPers.

As national restrictions are eased next week in time for the Easter holidays, but foreign travel is restricted, more of us will be making use of our stunning coastline and beaches this year, especially as the weather warms up.
