On behalf of everyone at Skylab Radio we would like to wish all of our listeners and supporters a very Happy New Year!
This is also a chance to reflect on the last twelve months which has seen Skylab evolve further…although we would like to think we are still close to our roots as a not-for-profit safe space for folk around the world to come and relax, unwind and ease the pressure of everyday life. Even though we are based in the UK, we are still international in our outlook, and in the music we play on the mothership. This year has been very tough for everyone, especially for all folks in the various warzones around the world… You’re always in our thoughts and please, stay safe.
In 2023; we’ve said hello to new DAB areas, and farewell to a couple of others. This trend will continue in 2024, as we work closely with transmission partners who support Skylab in what we do and more importantly believe in what we’re trying to achieve. We’ve slowly evolved our programming side of things with new shows this year and some excellent guest DJs providing mixes. Thank you so much! We have some great programming ideas for 2024.
I especially like to thank my right hand person - Katy, who has worked extremely hard, not only in bringing you her regular Mixed Feelings show, but has also worked extensively behind the scenes with music, artists/producers and also executing some fantastic programming ideas, which have come to fruition this year. Katy is a radio person through and through who not only gets the medium, but Skylab in particular.
All that remains to say is thank you for listening to us and supporting what we do. As always, we aim to continue offering that safe space to listeners. It truly is an honour and privilege to allow us into your space - either as a regular listener, or dipping in and out. You’ll always be Skylab’ers as far as we’re concerned!
From our family to yours… we wish you a peaceful 2024.
Love & respect
