Last night of the Paris Olympics 😁 2024
It’s been a busy couple of months. Working for Telstra in Rome, then repairing dry stone walls in Somerset , next visiting friends in Amsterdam before more Tennis in De Bosch and lastly Bad Homburg. Heading home tomorrow for a couple of weeks before heading off to Paris for the Olympics.
WTA Rome, on behalf of Telstra completed and even managed to do some sightseeing.
A great location and even managed to get some steps in (+/-20k a day 😊). There is a picture of a early camera in one of my pictures 🤔
Rouen WTA tournament. Such a great and well organised event, with the added delight of a stunning town centre.
Now home for a few days! 😁
All done in Bogotá. A long WTA tournament thanks to rain delays, but successful. A big thanks to all the team, for making my role as Tech manager easier. Now off to the next WTA in Rouen.
My 2nd WTA tournament of the year. Hua Hin is a great place for a tournament, Thailand is such a wonderful place with kind people. Even my PA 😉came along on this job.
Now off to Doha for the next WTA for Telstra 😁( the PA isn’t joining me in Doha, she off home).
China 🇨🇳 3 back to back WTA tournaments done on behalf Telstra. It’s been amazing, challenging, eventful, inspiring, educational and interesting few months.
Having the support of the Telstra, WTA media and Crionet team made the tournament’s easy (easier) for me. Thank you!
When two engineers get some down time we just had to go to the Great Wall
A spot of Breakfast by the lake
1st Tournament done of my stint in China. Next stop Beijing
At the first of the 3 tournaments in China 🇨🇳
Palermo WTA tournament done on behalf of Telstra. Wow it has been hot, 38c in the shade, AC working to max with a fan to help. A lovely tournament to work on with a great team too.
Still working on Tennis but working in a different role as a Tech Manager for WTA media in Birmingham. I worked with a great team who made my life easy!
Rabat; Google Translator was a blessing. Though technical speak doesn’t always translate into Arabic 🤪.
A few showers delayed play at the start of the WTA tournament but after that a lovely easy job.
Finding Vegetarian food was a bit limiting but not impossible ( a lot of pizza eaten).
As normal brilliant support from the Telstra Broadcast service team.
Heading home now to cut the lawn and catch up on walks with my bestie
April into May turned out to be a busy month. Started with a little holiday with the family in France and then straight off to work. Stuttgart WTA event first followed by Madrid WTA. It’s been a great few weeks working with the WTA media teams and Telsta Broadcast services again. Now home for a week to catch up on home chores 😁
I’m Just back from Austin Texas after a job for Telstra on behalf of WTA media. I was looking through my photos; Austin has a great music and beer drinking scene going on. We had long days so didn’t get out to explore as much as I hoped ( next time I will add a few days for some sightseeing).
With the support of everyone involved it was another prefect production.
I had the opportunity to work with my old colleagues and friends last night at a British awards. It was really nice to catch up and work in the U.K. for a change. Anyway it turn out to be all quiet on the western front
The first job of 2023 for me in Hua Hin Thailand. A lovely venue and great surroundings.
Covering a spot of Tennis 🎾 in Thailand
Football ⚽️ World Cup 2022.
I have two more matches and that’s me knocked out of the tournament. It’s been great working with the Multilink team again and especially been paired up with Nico who has made the job easy and fun. Nico and I have talked woodwork, house building and occasional when needs must about work.
Good luck to the broadcast teams who will be here to the end, at least the de-rig will be dry.
Some jobs don’t always go to plan. Normally it’s a engineering issue, but this time after rigging the kit, I didn’t feel to good. 9 days of isolation and after getting two clear PCR test I was allowed to return to work just in time for the de-rig.
Thanks to the numerous people that came to my aid.
We are nearly at the end of a long day, ( only 3 more news hits to do).
It’s been amazing day and lovely to see a nation come together to see off Queen Elizabeth II.
It’s been a honour to be a part of the great day.
Everyone one in nice and tight and pointed up. At QE2 centre
A quick drive by Canada gate while on the way to the Abbey
Frantic calls on the weekend while away; “can you help we need engineers?” Me; I wonder where I will be Buckingham palaces, Balmoral, Edinburgh…. await details….Man City 🤦🏻♂️
In Cleveland for my last of 4 back to back WTA tournaments, that’s taken from Switzerland to Poland to Canada and now the USA. So far we have had a lot of Rain in Cleveland which put the schedule a bit behind. Primary outgoing transmission on fibre with satellite as backup.
As normal outstanding support from the Telstra Broadcast team across the world.
Sunset in Cleveland
Nearly finished the 3rd of 4 back to back events. It’s been fun but looking forward to heading home for a break!
In Canada… let’s experience the culture 🤔 .Found a pub drank Guinness…. Try again tomorrow 🤪
