👻🚢 Halloween's here, and with it comes one of the eeriest ghost ship mysteries: the SS Ourang Medan, a Dutch freighter that allegedly met a chilling fate in 1947 in the waters of the Malacca Strait.

In the 1940s, this ship reportedly sent a chilling SOS—“All officers and the captain are dead… I die.” Rescuers found the entire crew dead, faces frozen in terror.

Moments later, the Ourang Medan exploded and disappeared without a trace.

Legend or truth? To this day, no records confirm its existence, making it one of the sea’s spookiest unsolved mysteries.

Ship Departure Update- There were media reports last week that suggested that the SS United States would depart Philadelphia for Norfolk on Friday, October 25th. We have learned from Okaloosa County that additional time for planning and necessary approvals will be needed to safely move the ship. Therefore, the vessel will not be moved on October 25th as was reported. As Okaloosa continues to work through the process of preparing the vessel for transport, we will endeavor to provide updates on potential move dates as soon as we have them. We realize that many people are interested in seeing the ship off in person and participating in this historic moment in some way. We will do all we can to provide as much notice as possible to help you plan effectively.
