Overview
Background
The British Reggae Industry Awards was first established in 1981 and ran successfully for 16 years. The Awards was first launched at Café Royal in London and at its pinnacle the awards ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall, London, where it had a sell-out crowd of over 4,000 attendees. The ethos of the BRIA awards was to positively promote reggae music and to champion
positive messages and providing lyrics that would uplift and motivate while promoting positivity amongst all people. It is important to British Reggae that young people through music have a heightened cultural awareness. Many young up and coming artists shy away from producing, writing and singing reggae music as it is a less lucrative genre of music but also very little recognition of their works are appreciated and acknowledged. By staging a high profile event, The British Reggae Industry Awards will ensure that concept is dispelled. Brit Reggae is committed to assisting young people to engage in their culture and heritage using the dynamic and powerful form which is music. The British Reggae Industry Awards is re-launching after a 15 year absence and we want YOU to have the opportunity to be part of this exciting venture. There is a huge and continual growing demand for the awards to recommence and the reggae industry is supporting the re-launching of the awards. B.R.I.A Events Management LIMITED believe that the awards has the potential to be even more successful in today’s music industry, where there is still a void in offering recognition to artists that are ambassadors for British reggae music. We also feel that this can act as a platform to highlight up and coming reggae artists who ordinarily may not get the exposure that they may deserve.
