Lincolnshire GP goes viral after protest
A Lincolnshire GP has gone viral on social media after protesting outside an MPs office due to the ongoing pressures facing the NHS.
Dr Simon Taylor, a GP in Gainsborough, shared a video online protesting outside the office of Bassetlaw MP Brendan Clarke-Smith.
Dr Taylor, who says he was born in Worksop, said in the video: "I'm protesting outside Brendan Clarke-Smith's office because we're in a situation now where I can't guarantee if I've got a sick patient I can get them into hospital quickly enough.
"I was an army doctor for about 19 years all in. I was deployed to places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia and I could get seriously ill patients faster into hospital there, within the hour than I can here."
In response to Dr Taylor's comments, Mr Sunak told ITV News: "I absolutely understand the pressure the NHS is under and that's why I spent all of Saturday talking to NHS leaders about the things we can do to make a difference."

Chaos in Aldi as shoppers battle for Youtuber's energy drink
UK supermarket Aldi saw chaotic scenes yesterday after selling an energy drink created by two Youtube superstars.
Prime is a sports drink promoted as "naturally flavoured beverages with 10% coconut water, BCAAs, antioxidants and electrolytes" that comes in a number of flavours and colours.
It is created and marketed by Prime Hydration, a company founded by YouTubers Logan Paul and JJ Olatunji (known as KSI).
Aldi tweeted that it would be selling the bottles for £1.99 as part of a promotion on Thursday, adding that stock was limited and would not immediately be replenished.
Following the announcement, long queues began to build outside stores across the country, with shoppers sprinting down aisles to grab a bottle.

MPs battle in House of Commons for Doncaster Airport
MPs battle in House of Commons for Doncaster Airport
Yesterday in the House of Commons Don Valley MP Nick Fletcher gave a passionate speech about the ongoing fight to save Doncaster Sheffield airport.
Ahead of the Adjournment Debate, Mr Fletcher addressed the commons and asked why members of the opposition had only taken an interest in the airport over the last fortnight rather than in the last three years when it was struggling.
He also asked that if the combined authority had done its job sooner, the airport would not be in the position it is in now.
The airport owners Peel Group have agreed to meet with potential investors but said it will continue its plan to wind down the airport from 31 October.
Over the weekend, hundreds of protesters marched in solidarity after their petition gained over 100,000 signatures to keep the airport open.

Hundreds protest against Doncaster Sheffield closure
GMB organiser Sarah Barnes said there was a chance the airport could be saved if "Peel did the right thing".
Owners Peel have agreed to meet with potential investors but said it will continue its plan to wind down the airport from 31 October. MP Nick Fletcher will today, deliver a speech to Parliament in the latest effort to save the site.
Workers, union officials, Doncaster MPs and members of the public were involved in the rally outside the airport.
Ms Barnes said to the BBC: "There's a genuine chance we can save our amazing airport, if Peel decides to do the right thing.
"If they won't, we need the Government to step in and use the powers and influence they have."
Last week, airport workers went Parliament to hand in a 100,00 strong petition in their fight to save the site.
"The only reason they've turned it down is they think they can make more cash closing their airport and flogging the site for housing.
"That is not good for the people of South Yorkshire and we cannot let them get away with it."
Peel has previously said it has worked "tirelessly" to secure the airport's future.
Mayor Ros Jones stated previous that after writing to Prime Minister Liz Truss potential buyers have been found, with the Peel Group confirming they would consider 'any tangible offers' and 'several interested investors who want to negotiate on the purchase.'
The announcement that Doncaster Sheffield airport would close was met with widespread anger and disappointment, but now their luck could be turning for the better.
The Mayor stated: "We are now urging the Prime Minister, her Secretary of State for Transport and indeed all of her Cabinet to halt the closure of DSA and compel Peel to accept our offer of financial support and negotiate with those parties interested in buying DSA."

MPs call fracking vote 'absolute disgrace'
MPs call fracking vote 'absolute disgrace'
Last night in the House of Commons Conservative MPs were reportedly bullied and manhandled into backing Liz Truss in a vote on fracking.
Cabinet ministers, believed to include Jacob Rees-Mogg and Thérèse Coffey, reportedly manhandled and physically dragged MPs, with some being left in tears.
Roughly 40 MPs didn't vote as none could decide if it was a test of confidence vote in Ms Truss or a vote on fracking.
Speaking to the BBC, backbencher Charles Walker called the situation an "absolute disgrace", adding that there was "no coming back" for the government.
He also shared his intent to leave parliament voluntarily, telling BBC's World Tonight: "I expect the prime minister to resign very soon because she's not up to her job."

Gas pipeline insertion under the River Humber
Pipelines for Humber Region to support low carbon future
The proposal to create an onshore underground pipeline infrastructure in the Humber region, to transport carbon dioxide and hydrogen will go ahead.
The proposals are to create onshore underground pipeline infrastructure in the Humber region to transport captured carbon dioxide and hydrogen.
The move helps support the Humber region to decarbonise and support a low carbon future for the region’s economy and the UK’s vision for net zero by 2050.
‘Our proposed pipeline infrastructure will consist of two underground pipelines – one for carbon dioxide and the other for hydrogen.’ They said.
The pipelines are intended to connect to major industrial emitters and power stations in the Humber region; such as SSE Thermal and Equinor’s Keadby 3 Carbon Capture Power Station and Equinor's Hydrogen to Humber (H2H) proposals in Saltend.
In October 2021, the government department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) confirmed the East Coast Cluster – which comprises Zero Carbon Humber and Net Zero Teesside – as one of the UK’s first carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) clusters for deployment in the mid-2020s.
The pipelines will continue to a landfall point on the Holderness coast. The onshore carbon dioxide (CO2) pipeline will then connect via an offshore pipeline to the Endurance offshore storage location.
The project will also include a number of above-ground installations and a tunnel under the River Humber.
‘Developing this infrastructure is essential for accelerating the decarbonisation of industry and creating and protecting thousands of jobs in the region, as well as making the Humber a hub for clean energy technologies.’ They concluded.

Humberside officer gives local women a voice
A Humberside Police officer if working to give women a voice in the local area and encouraging them to step forward if they are a victim of a hate crime.
23-year-old PC Hussain told BBC Look North: “I speak different languages myself so this is one group where I’ve been able to say ‘do you know what, you can tell me this, not in English, in your home language.”
She set up the group a few months ago and has already begun to see a difference, adding: Making a difference makes me feel incredible. I go home feeling like ‘do you know what, I have changed someone’s life today. I have done something today that’s made someone’s day a little better, a little bit better than before, a little bit better than yesterday.”
Community worker Farzana Khanum said: “So I guess what we know with a lot of the community in terms of hate crime is that people put up with it, so for instance it could be neighbour disputes, things like bullying going on in schools or being verbally abused when they go shopping, targeted because of either their religion and culture, that they won’t come forward.
“So the work that Az is doing is trying to encourage women to have that voice and not put up with things.”

Protester compares himself to Martin Luther King
Morgan Trowland, 39, is one of two Just Stop Oil demonstrators who attached themselves to the Queen Elizabeth II bridge in London.
The incident which has now come to an end is the latest in a string of disruptive demonstrations staged by the organisation.
The closure of the M25 at the crossing caused delays of two hours and six miles of congestion.
Now, Trowland has compared himself and others in the group to activists such as Dr Martin Luther King and the Suffragettes.
Speaking to Sky News he said: "Many people will get angry about this and I understand that anger.
“But in other times in history the Suffragettes were widely hated by most of the population. For decades they did much more extreme acts of disobedience.
"Martin Luther King was reviled in America in the early 1960s - sometimes people hate the thing that needs to come next."
Just Stop Oil says it has no plans to end its demonstrations anytime soon.

Plans for injunction to stop oil protesters
Protesters from the campaign group Just Stop Oil caused havoc in London yesterday as the blocked access to Park Lane and spray painted the Aston Martin showroom windows orange.
The demonstrators, who glued themselves to the tarmac, are calling for the government to halt all new oil and gas licences.
It comes after Home Secretary Suella Braverman outlined plans to crack down on such protests as part of the Public Order Bill.
Ms Braverman, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Nadhim Zahawi have reportedly met to apply for a new injunction against Just Stop Oil causing disruption on London's roads.
Transport for London already has an order against Insulate Britain, which engages in similar activities, but a separate one needs to be taken out for Just Stop Oil.
Many members of the public are calling for stronger action to target protesters who block busy road, what do you think is the right course of action?
