So proud to support Sanderson Barkade each year with the fantastic Sanderson Arcade, Morpeth team.
We could say some really important things here about increasing shopping centre dwell time, experiential shopping and reaching the target shopper, but we’re not going to bore you.
What’s really important is the impact that one small event dreamt up by the brilliant Centre Manager Lottie Thompson and us during the covid recovery has grown into a community-loved celebration which brings so much joy year after year.
This year, we had a record number of online entries and were delighted to see Finn and Phil take the Best in Show Prize.
Here’s part of the winner’s story:
“Finn came to me as a newborn, he was dehydrated, emaciated, full of parasites and close to death, he couldn't even stand and I thought he wouldn't live through the night, so I spent the entire night lying on the floor by his crate stroking him.
“Eventually I got him back to strength and after a couple of weeks he was adopted out, two weeks after that his new owners sent him back saying they couldn't handle him.
“As soon as he walked through the door the second time it was clear he was never going to leave my side. After I became unwell I flew home to be with my family and paid £5000 for him to be flown home with me.
“I may have saved him. But now he has saved me.”

Every Move Matters is a free structured 8-week programme that supports frail, isolated and vulnerable members of the community. This is a programme that makes a massive difference. Participants come along to socialise, try fun group-based activities and find out how to improve their health and wellbeing.

A free family fun day culminating with a showstopping light switch on will officially mark the start of Christmas in Morpeth.
We’ve been on a special Christmas mission from Morpeth Town Council to design a Christmas trail around the town.
Launching today, you’ll be able to pick up a sheet from any participating business or the More in Morpeth website and either take part in our adult’s Christmas quiz trail or kids’ Christmas Elf Hunt to be in with a chance to win a special prize!

The ‘Cleanfluencer’ now has over 4.1m followers after she started posting herself cleaning her home and favourite products. Her mentions of The Pink Stuff saw sales increase by 350% since her post and stories 🧽 Then TikTok came along, and the rise of #CleanTok saw The Pink Stuff being featured in people’s cleaning must-haves. The videos featuring the product soon reached over 250 million views.📱 The Results... Three years ago, The Pink Stuff's turnover was around £2m; last year the company's turnover sat at £25m💸 A product that was once only featured in small retailers is now widely stocked in big name high street stores. Sales have also soared internationally, mostly from the US, who are always searching for the ‘miracle paste’.

Bringing experience to retail 😊🐾 Sanderson Barkade is an event that Sanderson Arcade, Morpeth Centre Manager Lottie Thompson and Katy Moody have had in the ideas jar for a long time now. When we got the go-ahead surrounding restrictions just over a month ago, we all put our heads together and came up with an event filled with traders, demos and of course competitions that would give everyone a chance to safely enjoy celebrating our furry friends and emphasise that the Arcade is a pooch friendly place. We had a significant increase in footfall, encouraged visitors from all across the North East and beyond and most importantly saw so many smiling happy faces again. Huge thanks to Lottie Thompson, Molly Thompson, the brilliant Gordon and of course Matt Bailey for holding the full event together with his fantastic hosting.
