are celebrating women in two exciting
concerts to be performed at The
Drill Hall, Horsham on Saturday 16
March @ 7.30 and Sunday 17 March
at Lewes Town Hall @ 3.00pm.
With such a huge array of composers, literary
artists, singers and iconic women to choose
from you can expect a hugely varied concert
featuring Clara Schumann, Petula Clarke,
Sarah Quartel, the songs ‘I will survive’,’ I am
woman’, and a nod to many female composers
& singers who have made a significant mark in
their artistic life.
We are incredibly proud to include Caroline Sharman-
Mendoza to compliment and engage with the
audience by presenting readings and quotes from
an even wider selection of amazing women.

St David was born in 500 and died on 1 March – St David’s Day - in 589. He is the only native-born patron saint of the countries of Britain and Ireland. Apparently his mother, St Non, gave birth to him during a storm! St David was the greatest figure in the 6th century Welsh Age of Saints. He travelled far and wide, and founded scores of religious communities across Wales and England. St David's remains are buried in St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire, where he had eventually settled and established a religious community.

St David was canonised by Pope Callixtus in the 12th century, and we have celebrated St David’s Day ever since.

Wrestling at the Barn Theatre

Wrestling is returning to The Barn Theatre, Southwick, by public demand on Saturday 27th January at 7.30pm following the sold-out debut event last year.

The show, presented by Premier Promotions, the No. 1 matchmakers for British wrestling, whose shows have been thrilling fans of all ages for five decades, will feature heavyweight star Bullit, one of the biggest names in UK wrestling, and also include an all-in American rumble when the wrestlers are eliminated by being thrown out of the ring over the top rope, with the last man standing being crowned the king of the ring.

Horsham poppy shop open for 2023
The Royal British Legion 2023 Poppy Appeal has launched. The poppy shop in Horsham Town Centre is now open for business, featuring for the first time a new plastic-free poppy which can be recycled in ordinary paper recycling collections.
At the official opening were Horsham District Council Vice Chairman Cllr Nigel Emery, Poppy Appeal Organiser Joe Lyons, Chair of the Horsham Branch of the Royal British Legion Zäl Rustom and Crawford Butler from the Royal British Legion, along with some of the shops customer assistants.

West Chiltington Silver Band presents an Autumn Brass Concert featuring an Oktoberfest ‘Brass-aoke’
Saturday 28th October, West Chiltington Village Hall, Mill Road, West Chiltington RH20 2PZ

The concert's first half will feature pieces with an autumnal theme, with the second half fully embracing Oktoberfest with plenty of audience participation!

Enjoy an evening’s entertainment with some of West Sussex's finest brass musicians. Lederhosen and Dirndl are optional… beer, wine, and other refreshments are available.

The 2023 Ashington Festival will start with a Carnival parading through the village with colourful carnival floats and walking groups in fancy dress for the occasion.
