After walking 23 miles for nine hours, taking 62,000-odd steps, burning 4,788 calories, and climbing seven or so hills, all particularly nasty and steep, totalling an ascent of over 1200m, yesterday a group of around 50 of us successfully completed the Jurassic Coast Challenge in aid of Racing Welfare. 😊

Luckily the rain held off until the last hour, for most of the walk we just had to battle a gusty,
cliff-face wind that did its best to throw us off track, thank god it was blowing inland and not seawards.

The walk was far tougher than I had ever envisaged ... my leg muscles and feet started to seriously complain by mid-day.

Unfortunately, the afternoon rain and lack of battery life (mine and my phone's!) meant that photo snapping opportunities came to an end three-quarters of the way around, but there are a few here... hopefully the pictures show just how steep the hills are.

For those who have sponsored, many thanks indeed... the funds you have kindly promised really did motivate me to get to the finish line at Swanage School, and I know Racing Welfare is very grateful for the donations.

And, of course, there is still time to sponsor, so here is your last call, go to: https://racingwelfare.enthuse.com/pf/sally-duckett ... every penny is vital.

With thanks and best wishes

Sally
