With blistering rhythms and searing bass, AK/DK return with their highly anticipated fourth album, ‘Strange Loops’.

It builds on the momentum of their previous release; Shared Particles, which sold out of the Dinkededition even before its release, and achieved no. 7 in the Indie Record Store charts. Known for their trademarkmotorik energy and riotous joy, AK/DK are back, and for the first time, they’ve introduced guest vocalists intothe fray. This new release sees the drum and synth duo collaborate with three exciting artists: the musicianTVAM, punk poet - Thick Richard, and I Am Fya; sound artist.

“We’ve always had guests join us on stage for live improvisations; some were planned appearances, and somewere random audience members. We thought we’d try and recreate that excitement on record, and feel verylucky that these amazing artists have joined us on our new album.” Ed Chivers

The angular guitars and spaced-out vocals of TVAM intertwine with the duo’s driving beats and convulsingsynths, resulting in the pulsating Devo-esque powerhouse of ‘Square Route’. The two bands have been crossingpaths on festival line ups for a while now and it seemed inevitable that they should join forces.

I Am Fya’s usual experimental textures and sound-collage is temporarily put to one side on ‘Pull Up’. For thisdeep and heavy sub-rattling cut; I Am Fya and AK/DK lean heavily into sound system bass and dancehall style.Her febrile and powerful vocals interweave with tectonic sub bass and stuttering rhythms, sounding like MissyElliot jamming with a modular synth.

Manchester’s very own Thick Richard adds his lyrical, jet-black humour to the track ‘Nobody Shouts’. Theircollaboration began when the band invited the punk poet up for an impromptu improvisation during their setat Beatherder festival 2020. It went down so well that they had to record it; learning the track from fan footageonline. This is nothing new for AK/DK, creating powerful improvised moments for those lucky enough to be inthe audience.

Strange Loops presents two distinct halves of music. The A side offers sure-fire bangers that will linger in yourears and have you pounding the dance floor, while the B side delves into more experimental and ambient.

Lonely Planet is a brand new movie from Netflix, starring Laura Dern and Chris Hemsworth and we are really excited that “Forest” by Rabii Harnoune & V.B.Kühl is used in the soundtrack!

In the new romance Lonely Planet, from Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich), Dern plays Katherine, a novelist who heads overseas only to fall headfirst into a most unlikely love story of her own. “Katherine has spent her life dedicated to narrative and therefore [hasn’t spent] much time looking at deep truth within,” Dern told Netflix. “She is at a turning point in her life where she is looking for a softening and deeper understanding, and she finds it in a love story.”

Full Thought Publishing is pleased to announce we have signed Amber Navran’s “ Knock on the Orange Door” her debut, self-produced and self-released LP. After releasing music with her band Moonchild, Amber says “Producing makes me feel like myself more than anything in the world. I hope you hear the joy, playfulness, freedom, and love I have for this artform in the music. When I first started producing I lived in a house with an orange door and would tell people who came over to "knock on the orange door." When I moved, I named my new home studio Orange Door Studios. I want this album to be an invitation into who I am as a producer in this moment”.

Alice Russell returns with a new, self-reflective single, “Rain”.
Written and produced alongside long-time collaborator TM Juke, “Rain” is the first offering of new music from the iconic singer in over a decade and is one of her most personal songs to date.

Melding warm, blues-infused guitars with heartfelt lyrics, “Rain” addresses the urgent need for us all to be self-reflective, so we can truthfully communicate and connect with those around us and the world we inhabit. As Russell elaborates: “Rain is about us trying our best to see what is ours and not pile it on to those around us, to question so we can have a truly deep, connected, loving and honest relationship with all who share our lives; to sort out our own baggage so we can let go and therefore move on and live, while we still have the breath to do so”.
