🦺Starting next week, overnight closures will be in place on the A417 from the Air Balloon roundabout to the A46 Brockworth junction. It’s to allow our teams to safely carry out earth removal, lay new surfacing and paint road markings.

🚧Closures will be in place between 9pm and 6am for 14 consecutive nights, starting on Monday 8 April and reopening at 6am on Monday 22 April.

🚘A clearly signed diversion route will be in place so you’ll still be able to get to where you need to go, but we recommend you plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

🔔National Star College and Crickley Hill Country Park will be open for business as usual🔔

Drivers advised to plan journeys ahead of A417 weekend closure in Gloucester ⚠

The diversion route will be in operation during the overnight closures.

The closure work allows for easy access for site and heavy goods vehicles making deliveries to new site offices and compound.

The site has been carefully located to help keep traffic moving and congestion to a minimum during the project.

During the closures, all traffic will be diverted via the A40, A46, A453 and A436. Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the closure, and Crickley Hill Country Park and National Star College will be open for business as usual.

During this work, National Highways will remove existing traffic islands, create a temporary roundabout, and install a new site entrance.

🚧This Friday 19 January, the A417 Missing Link will create a new site entrance near the Air Balloon roundabout.

⛔To do this, we need to close a small section of the A436 and the top of Leckhampton Hill over the weekend, from 9pm on Friday 19 January to 6am on Monday 22 January.

🚘A diversion route will be in place via the A46, A40, A435, A436 and has been agreed with Gloucestershire County Council.

🔊The A417 will remain open in both directions but the A436 will not be accessible from the Air Balloon roundabout during the works. Crickley Hill Country Park and National Star College will be open for business as usual.

They say no news is good news...and in our case no news means our engineer has found the problem with the technology & taken the offending piece of equipment home to beat it up!

Once he has beaten it into submission over the next day or so, our hourly news bulletins will be back! Meanwhile, enjoy the lack of depressing news ;)

Good news Friday! A435 Charlton Hill road, which has been closed for safety improvement repairs and stabilisation since March, has just been reopened. Well done team, all completed well ahead of schedule. 🥳
