Photo taken after yesterday's press conference with the Minister of Culture, Owen Bonnici , the president of the Santa Katerina Band of Żurrieq, and a representative from the 'Smiling with Jerome' foundation as we announced the collaboration for "Chasing Sunsets - Anthem Orchestra" on August 23rd in the main square of Żurrieq.

As many of you know, the theme and goal of Chasing Sunsets is to combine and promote Malta's culture and history indirectly through events featuring DJs and electronic music in iconic locations across Malta and Gozo. Over the past few years, these adventures have taken us from Fort Saint Angelo to the Citadel in Gozo and the Santa Maria Tower in Comino, garnering millions of views on social media and international TV stations.

For years, I've dreamed of organizing an event within the atmosphere of a traditional Maltese festa. With the backdrop of a decorated church and a square adorned with festival decorations, fireworks, and all the unique elements that make up a Maltese festa, which I believe are cornerstones of our culture.

A few years ago, I performed a small set in the Żurrieq square, and it didn't take long for me to realise how beautifully decorated the square is, with the lit-up church and the festa decorations... Simply a beautiful and perfect setting for a Chasing Sunsets event.

"Joven, you're dreaming," one of my friends told me... "How are you going to pull off an event here?"... "Bro.. Just watch me."

For this occasion, I will be joining the members of the Santa Katerina Band of Żurrieq, led by maestro Josef Grech and maestro Etienne Spiteri (who, like me, is from Bormla) to create an orchestra that will blend electronic music with classical music from the church parvis in Żurrieq.

A bit different from the other Chasing Sunsets events, but certainly unique and embodying the essence of Maltese culture. Moreover, this event will be free of charge, and we will be raising funds for the 'Smiling with Jerome' foundation, which supports families of children affected by cancer.

This will surely be an experience I will recount in the storybook I share with my grandchildren... Stories from Grandpa J’s book!

Hahahahaha, and don't worry, there's still a long way to go before that...
