It was so hard to pick just 4 things, but these are the very top 4 things we think every business should be thinking about when it comes to their digital marketing and digital marketing strategy. You can check out the full blog with more details via our link in bio but in short:
1 - Set Your Goals
Defining your goals will allow you measure success, and help set a strategy which gives your goals the most chance of success.
2 - Know Your Customer
When you know your customer well you can tailor your marketing efforts.
3 - Optimise For Mobile
Over 55% of traffic is now from mobile devices. Having a seamless mobile website that allows people to check out efficiently is a necessity.
4 - Track, Measure & Adjust
Make sure you have tracking set up & measure your efforts – not everything will work, and some things will work better than others so be ready to make adjustments.

What methods are you using to encourage customer reviews for your business?
We recently created these two items for Love Furniture to help boost theirs 🚀 These include a QR code to make leaving a review really simple and both reach the customer on delivery of their products.
Firstly, the business card is offered directly by the driver with a space set out to write their name, for a more personal review.
Secondly, the 2 sided A4 flyer is included with the delivered products. It sets out the company's after-sales policies on one side while on the other it encourages customers to review, as well as send in photos and videos of their new furniture for promotional use.
Reviews are a brilliant way to increase trust and including reviews in your marketing strategy will really benefit you. If you have a need for anything like this, get in touch!

When I initially meet with clients I always find it surprising the number who aren’t using retargeting.
It is the easiest audience to convince to buy your product, which means it will be the most cost effective. Retargeting is a really powerful way to turn prospective customers into customers that sign up, subscribe, make a purchase or whatever your goal is. Returning visitors will show a much greater interest in your product or service, they will have a much higher click through rate and conversion rate after their first visit. It is a really successful way for you to increase sales and leads.

Are you neglecting some of your sales funnel? These are some ad graphics we have created for Gr8 Fires, with the purpose of reaching potential customers higher in the funnel.
These are people who may not be ready to purchase right now, but will be in the future. We provide these customers with helpful information and encourage them to visit the website or engage with the business. This helps move them along the funnel, closer to purchasing and also likely to purchase with us when they do so.
The main stages of the purchasing journey (aka funnel) are awareness, consideration, conversion and loyalty, and to really get the most from your marketing budget you should be providing different types of information to your customers depending on where they are on that journey. Strategy is key and here at digital88 we make sure we are using different campaign types, goals and placements that work together with the aim of increasing sales and getting a strong return on investment 📈

We have worked with our friends at for a few years now to deliver paid digital advertising for the Festival 🧠
Using the fantastic creative assets RV design, we use a mix of platforms, and campaign and ad types to raise awareness on the festival, send interested traffic to the website and ultimately drive event conversions.

It's International Women's Day, so we thought we would take a second to (re)introduce ourselves! We're Joanne & Clare, the women behind digital88. Nice to meet you 👋
Joanne founded digital88 in 2016, providing digital marketing to small businesses, and Clare joined not long after to take on the graphic design side of things. We've been growing our offering and working with lots of lovely businesses in Belfast and beyond ever since!
All-female led companies still only make up around 20% of businesses in the UK, but this is growing all the time! We're really proud to be a part of this and love seeing so many amazing female led start-ups coming up around us here in NI 🙌

Looking at the stats for 2023, it’s clear that Facebook still reigns supreme in terms of social media marketing. But 66% of marketers are increasing their budgets on Instagram and YouTube, and 43% are increasing their TikTok spend 📈

This is a trend we are seeing with our clients and results as Facebook continues to deliver but real gains are being made on other channels. People spend their social media time in a variety of different places, so your social media advertising strategy should reflect that.

Our Story

digital88 is a small team of 3 - Joanne McCullagh, Clare Brawley, and one furball called Tucker - based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

We work for a range of clients across a variety of sectors providing digital marketing and graphic design services at a more cost effective rate than traditional agencies. Agency rates in Northern Ireland are between £80-£100 per hour. This is workable for larger companies but for the smaller business this is usually a no-go fee. We bridge the gap.
