Broadcasting from the basement of Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow Who Are We? What Can We Do? What do we need?

Harlow Hospital Radio is a charity, solely run by volunteers and is based in Princess Alexandra Hospital. We are a very active organisation and try to involve ourselves in the community of the hospital as much as we can, amongst other things we do all of the following:

Live Broadcasting
We broadcast live every evening from 7pm onwards live from our studio within the hospital itself, we have a gre

at team of excellent presenters and virtually all tastes in music are catered for with some truly great and diverse shows. We are always delighted to take any requests or dedications for anyone in the hospital. Fund Raising
We are always in need of much needed funds to keep the radio station running, we specialise in doing both Outside Broadcasts and Quiz Nights for a nominal fee – why not book an Outside Broadcast and / or a quiz night for your organisation? Have Fun
More than anything else, we always have a lot of fun at Harlow Hospital Radio. Everybody is very friendly and a great laugh and some of the shows can be hilarious to join in with! Volunteers
Everyone who is part of Harlow Hospital Radio is a volunteer and they are all dedicated and talented individuals. We are always on the search for a new member, so why not consider joining. Anyone over the age of 16 can join Harlow Hospital Radio; just get in contact with us. By Joining you can get the chance to be trained in how to be a radio presenter, and if you make the grade you will get the chance of presenting your own radio show

You can also join in the regular fund raising events we organise, include outside broadcasts and quiz nights; both are normally a lot of fun and well worth joining in! Hospital Radio is not in a position to offer work experience. However we do actively recruit members to participate in the various activities of the station. Donations / Supporters
Running a radio station as a charity can be difficult as the equipment is very expensive! Needless to say we are always trying to raise funds and would gratefully welcome any donation, however large or small. We would particularly like to hear from any company that would be interested in a long term supporting arrangement If you want to know more about anything discussed here, please get in contact, we would love to hear from you.

We had a great time today doing the music and PA announcements at St Michael's Primary School in Bishop's Stortford, for their summer fete.
Unfortunately Jonny (who works at the school) was voted to have slime poured over him. I think 2 showers might me needed to clean all that up.

Well another HHR Variety Show done. Thanks to LMA Studios Jigsaw Performing Arts School Harlow The BloomFields Anna Wells O'Leary and Meadows Greg Camburn from Retune and Neale Munson for providing the talent, Steven Stoney Stone and Mark Ranger for helping run the night, all the backstage crew, lighting and sound for making it possible, but most importantly everyone who can and watched for supporting the show.

Getting ready for today's JAM session at 7pm

Today is the start of our 52 hour broadcast to celebrate our 50th (+2) anniversary. From 12 today through till 4pm on Sunday. Here is a video with a few messages from some well wishers. #hospitalradio #harlow #volunteer

A couple of weeks ago some members got together (virtually) to record the 2021 pantomime. Here's a little trailer. This will be broadcast to the patients and staff in the hospital via their bedside units, and also streamed live right here on Facebook. 5pm on Christmas Eve.

Today we recorded our annual Panto (oh yes we did), this year expertly written by our programme controller Jonny. This will be played out to the patients and staff of PAH at 5pm on Christmas Eve. Don't worry, you don't need to do anything drastic to be able to listen as we will be playing it out on here at the same time.
