Have your say on how up to £20m should be spent in Keighley, as part of a consultation which is launching today.

was one of 75 places around the UK selected to share £1.1billion over the next ten years, as part of the Long-Term Plan for Towns scheme, from the Government's Levelling Up programme. The award is in addition to the £33.6m previously granted in 2021 through the Towns Fund. The Keighley Town Board has been set up to oversee both streams of funding and will develop a long-term plan for the Keighley and surrounding ‘Brontë Country’ area.

A consultation, both online and in person, is now under way, seeking local people’s views on:
• Improving transport and connections
• Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour
• Enhancing the town centre to make it more attractive and accessible

The consultation will run until 21st July online, with an interactive map, as well as in-person drop-in sessions to be announced shortly.

Many thanks to AgeUK Bradford District for following the Community Voices on BCB 106.6 FM page. We're joining them in spreading the hydration message, please stay hydrated in the hot weather, don't forget to take enough fluid this summer. Contact them if you need any advice on how to stay cool this summer.

With the warmer weather, it's important to stay hydrated and keep cool. Older people (especially those over 75) and people with certain health conditions are more vulnerable in hot weather. For further information on keeping cool in warm weather, visit https://www.ageuk.org.uk/information-advice/health-wellbeing/mind-body/staying-cool-in-a-heatwave/

If you or someone you know is differently abled and would like to try out some fantastic hand cycles, electric wheelchair clip-ons and mountain trikes, come on down to the bandstand on the 19th June where they can be demo'ed for free.

We'll also be running a Dr Bike where you can get free bike repairs and adjustments. Email us for more info.
