Start Point Media is a digital content creation company launched by Andrew Learmonth and Fionn McArthur in Orkney at the start of 2017. With backgrounds in journalism, press and public relations, video production, photography and digital communications, we have more than twenty-five years of experience of working with, and helping to promote Orkney, its people and its products. We’re passionate about telling your story and, at the same time, promoting these islands to the world.

We've been involved in covering work at the Ness of Brodgar in various guises for the past two decades. What a privilege to get to spend time there in the final days of the excavations.

We were asked to help provide a bit of additional camera work for the crew from Time Team, who were here covering the final two weeks of the dig.

A busy couple of days but lots of laughs with these great folk and the brilliant team at The Ness.

Will miss spending a little time out here every summer but looks forward to hearing about the results of the years of post excavation work to come.

Been a busy summer, shooting interviews and landscapes throughout the isles, for a project set for delivery in the autumn.

Not the greatest summer for filming, but we make hay when the sun (occasionally) shines ☀️😎🎥

It's always particularly satisfying to work on a project that's close to your heart.

Despite all the challenges, we still have a great range of local and national chain shops in Orkney.

It was a pleasure to produce this short film for StromnessOrkney and Kirkwall BID, with Cameron Stout delivering his lines brilliantly.

As Orkney Folk Festival gets underway, it's been a day of weather disruption for organisers, with artists' travel plans being hit by fog.

Huge thanks to Kris Drever for stepping in at short notice to perform the most appropriate of songs among the collection of the Orkney Historic Boat Society.

So, a fair bit of today has been spent cleaning salt off delicate equipment.

Pretty awesome filming waves at Yesnaby yesterday for orkney.com though 😍

Think it may have been marginally higher wind speed than our image stabilisation could handle!
