Which would you rather take for a spin? 🤔

Was just sorting out some media and found this photo, one that I’d completely forgotten that I had ever taken. On one side, a shiny helicopter that I regularly dangled under to go help people that had got themselves into a bit of bother. On the other, a bike that regularly gets me into a bit of bother! 🤣 Suppose it’s a bit yin and yang.

Both those ve-hi-cles photo well, eh? 💪🏻

What was your first bike? 🤔

I was just sorting out load of photos and found these beauties - me and my good friend riding sports bikes in our yoof.

Bike #1 was a black Suzuki SV650. I bought it from “up north” from some dodgy geezer who clearly hadn’t maintained it, and who mugged off a very young and naive Ollie Moto. Knowing what I know now, there is no way it would have passed the fresh MOT that came with it, and I would not have bought it. The bike lasted a couple of months but then blew itself to pieces on the way back from watching the BSB at Mallory Park. Shame, it was fun to ride.

So, bike #2 was a Kwak Ninja 600. I absolutely loved that thing, rode it like a hooligan and went touring all over the UK with it. I didn’t have nice gear back then though, just a tent bungeed to the rear seat and my (quite clearly) oversized textiles. I think they were my Dad’s.

Happy times. Happy memories. I wish Sean still owned that Repsol VFR400 too. I’d buy it off him👌🏻

The Ollie Moto shop is back up and running! And, to celebrate, there's even a sale on a few items. It's all for grabs - t-shirts, hats, mugs, neck tubes, stickers... etc - so go and have a browse.

My bobble hats are super popular and tend to sell out right away, so if you've been pining for one for a while, I'd get one while you can! And yes, the bobble hat in this photo is (quite clearly, and intentionally poorly) photoshopped in... 😂

Despite owning one, obviously, I don't seem to have a single photo with me wearing it 🤦🏼‍♂️ They will make you look that cool though.

I don't normally share this kind of stuff, but some of our ADV friends have had a rough time lately and could do with a helping hand.

I don't know them, but I do want to help them finish their adventure. Donate if you can 👍🏻

I won an award! I didn’t get the opportunity to brag about it at the time so I’m going to do it now: I was only voted the favourite The Trail and Adventure Motorbike Podcast guest of 2023! 👊🏻

I’m a big fan of the TAMPodcast, and they’ve had some mega guests, so it’s pretty cool that I somehow won. The actual physical award may be tiny, but I’m still pretty humbled.

I doubt I’ll be able to defend my crown though as I’ve not been on there at all recently 👑 Also, knowing Clive as well as I do, having used me to gain traction and fame for his channel I’m sure he’ll just discard me now. Never trust a SBW. Noel’s alright tbf.

All 3 episodes of my Wheels of Morocco Challenging Roads Tour are now on the ol' YouTube.

Watch me wrestle a BMW GS 1250 through the dunes of Morocco for 3 episodes of around 30 minutes each. I only fell off twice. Not bad for me eh? 😉 Also, to answer the multiple repeated question: No, I have no plans to own a GS.

I tackle Moroccan dirt whilst riding a BMW GS 1250 on the Wheels of Morocco Challenging Roads Tour. In Episode 3 we have to head home, but not before some ch...

Remember when I was cool and owned a (semi) working KTM 990? Well, at present I own a barely working Batbike. Please take this post as my permission to hound Olly at WrenchRide to fix it for me. I’m too busy, and I’m sure he has loads of spare time… 😂

I’m chatting to the legend himself tomorrow for a catch-up. Your harassment will give me some ammo and, if he’s still not sold on the idea, I’ll escalate to using the ammo from that tank thing instead.

Thanks in advance 😘 Oh and if you’ve not heard his recent The Trail and Adventure Motorbike Podcast episode then make sure you check it out. It’s excellent: S06 E05.

I took this photo having been stood in this exact spot for about 2 hours. Just where that palm tree is the sand got mad deep, which resulted in utter chaos. Bikes stuck, riders down, the lot.

At this point I could write some inspirational stuff about never giving up or whatever. What actually happened was we spent our free time giving relentless banter for a) breaking his bike and b) not bothering to make us a coffee (whilst he was fixing his bike, and we were just chilling). Once he was sorted we thought “nah f this” and found some tarmac.

Can’t win them all! 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

I’ve had a lot of questions recently about whether I still have the Batbike. Of course I do! I’ll never sell that thing.

It is currently dead though, and won’t be up and running for a while yet. Don’t worry, it will definitely be back on your screens at some point… breaking down... requiring more fixing… 🔧😂

Lads on tour. Y2K+24 👊🏻

You get the measure of people on adventure. When you’re tired, hungry, working hard, and still have a long way to ride, only then do you see people’s true character. My favourite riding buddies are those that still keep cracking jokes, even when it’s all going to sh*t, and don’t take life too seriously. This lot didn’t take anything too seriously! 😂 The banter was fierce…

Who’s your favourite riding buddy? The same as the above, or just a mate who’s generous when it comes to buying the brews? ☕️

I know I normally have tinted goggles on, so here’s the story behind the lens (see what I did there). These are my “I’m out of my depth” eyes, which I’m normally rockin’ during my rides… 👀😂

Am I the only one? C’mon, share your best “Yeah, I don’t got this” look… 🤔

Man, the final day was just epic. Pure ADV heaven.

We left our kasbah early doors to find a trail through the Atlas Mountains that would take around 5 hours and, oh my God, was it good. Not only were the trails themselves pretty bloody fantastic, but the views were just incredible.

It wasn’t easy riding though. As I’ve said in earlier posts, this was a competent group but there wasn’t a single rider who didn’t have a “I nearly died” moment in the fesh-fesh. So much fun though, even without intercom you could hear people laughing into their helmets all day long! 😂

Once the dirt was done, and lunch (lesson learned) all that was left was the Tizi n’Tichka pass, miles and miles of racetrack-worthy roads to get us from Ourzazate back to Marrakesh. I would bet all £26.38 of my savings that there isn’t a rider in this land that wouldn’t enjoy this pass. Google it. I promise that we all rode very responsibly… 😬

Huge, huge thanks to and all of the Wheels of Morocco crew for this opportunity. It was truly awesome, and I never take this s*** for granted.

This is what happens if you skip lunch.

It was around 1500 and, like a bunch of idiots we’d ran out of food and water, hadn’t eaten since 0700, and were in the middle of nowhere tackling some gnarly terrain. I took my eye of the ball for like half a second to look at something in the distance just as the terrain changed and the front dug in to the soft shingle, which gave me the excuse for a little lie down…😴

Ah well, makes a good photo I suppose. The classic “yeah, I f***ed it” pose 👍🏻 At least it wasn’t my bike eh ? 😂

Day 3 was a mixed bag. We set off with the aim of smashing a desert route that was given to us by a local, who assured us it was hardpack with just ‘a bit’ of sand. Well, he lied.

We found the trail early doors where the ‘bit’ of sand was actually super deep, and went on forever. Although we were riding mid-weight ADV none of us are scared of a challenge so we gave it a go; in the following 2 hours we covered about 20 metres, had 3 people fall over, dug out the same bike 3 times and then had to fix a mechanical issue! 😂 Nailed it.

As we were now well behind schedule we opted for the black stuff for the remainder of the day to make up time. This was probably a blessing in disguise though; after the previous riverbed day my tired clutch-hand wasn’t really working as it should, so road riding was a chance to recharge.

We also stopped at some rocks with a killer view where apparently some geezer called Pol Tarres had done some riding for a video. Rather him than me; nowadays I get too scared at cliff edges because I’ve rescued too many people who have fallen off them in the past! 🙃🚁 I did brave it for one photo though, I’m not a complete wimp.

Day 2 was a proper test of endurance.

We ventured into the unknown on a hunch and soon found ourselves in a riverbed. Why do I always ride in bloody riverbeds in Morocco? 😂 It was tough; a lot of the group are very, very capable riders and everyone found it hard. The rocks were unpredictable so sometimes you could carry speed but then, with no visual clues, the front would bog and/or fire the bike in random directions. Not full send. Definitely full concentration.

We’d also cocked up our planning so had no proper food, nowhere to get food, and didn’t find a village for lunch until 1730. Idiots. Wouldn’t have changed anything though. It’s what adventure is all about, right?

I think it goes without saying, but it’s good to be back riding in Morocco 🤟🏻🇲🇦

Day 1 was an early start and a long day in the saddle to get us to where we need to be for the upcoming Day 2 epicness. It rained a lot, but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits (pardon the pun). I was just happy that I can still remember how to ride a bike. This T7 makes it easy tbf.

I’ve done my first bike review! 🔥 Sinnis Motorcycles contacted me saying they’d seen me riding in the dirt a lot, and they wanted one of their Terrain 125 bikes covered in a lot of dirt for a video review, so I took a Black Edition off their hands and went and rode in a lot of dirt… for a video review. Capeesh? 😂

What did I think of this wee 125cc adventure bike? I liked it tbf, but all the info is in the video. I’m not sure how useful this video will be for people though - I don’t get wrapped up in intricacies, maybe not ideal for a bike review - but hopefully you’ll find it entertaining at least! 😂

to when I joined the ADV club 🤘🏻 Bought a Tiger, sodded off to Morocco, made some videos and now I’ve even sold a few hats with my name on them. Mental.

Adventure riding (on big bikes of course) rocks; I’ve met cool people, I’ve been to cool places and riding on the dirt has also made me a much better rider. Yes I know, I must have been terrible before eh? 🤣

Want some of my merch? This is the amount of love and attention that goes into each delivery.

Thanks for the purchase Seats 👍🏻🤣

ADV Rider. Filmmaker. Paramedic.

My name is Ollie. I ride bikes, I make movies, and I work in medicine.

I’ve been riding bikes for a while. It all started like most by riding like a hooligan on sports bikes, from there progressed to track-riding, and then I eventually had my ADV epiphany and grabbed a Triumph Tiger 800 in 2017. This bike was ace (those engines are awesome) but as my riding slowly drifted toward a lot more off-road stuff I decided to join Team Orange and traded my Tiger in for a KTM 990 Adventure S, known as the Batbike. I’ve also owned a few ‘little bikes’ and currently I have a Husky 3-fiddy that regularly gets covered in mud.

My social media stuff started with Bodge Tape Adventures when a group of mates invited me along on a trip to Morocco, the reason for the Tiger purchase. I decided to film it all, having never filmed anything before, and I subsequently edited and produced my first series Road to Morocco. People seemed to like it so since then I’ve made a few more videos for the ol’ YouTube and I have a lot of upcoming projects, so keep your eyes peeled for the next Ollie Moto release!

My day job involves medicine. I’ve worked and taught in in various medical guises and am currently employed as a Paramedic Winchman on the UK Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopters. If it’s medicine you’re after then ping me a message or search for Neece Medical on Facebook.
