I had an inspiring conversation with Alan Bateson, a double world record-holding ultra runner. Alan’s journey hasn’t been easy; he survived the trauma of child abuse and fought against alcoholism and drug addiction. Despite these challenges, he transformed his life through the power of perseverance and setting formidable goals.
Remarkably, Alan achieved all of this in his 40s, proving that it’s never too late to turn your life around and achieve greatness.

Unfortunately, the civilised modern world turning us into marshmallows.
The convince of online shopping, working from home, and home entertainment means we never have to move anymore, let a lone leave the house.
However, this sedentary lifestyle is making us as sturdy as wet tissue paper. Anxiety and stress are skyrocketing faster than the latest viral trend, and when life throws us a curveball, we crumble like a soggy biscuit.
We should be actively seeking out difficult situations to maintain a sturdy mental fortitude. I personally believe there’s no better way to do that than physical challenges.
Challenges are a great way to expose ourselves to stressful environments in a controlled setting. Sure, it’s uncomfortable as hell at first, but hey, so is wearing skinny jeans.
As we get used to the mental discomfort, we increase our ability to deal with stress and pressure, better preparing us to deal with whatever life throws at us.
