The studio refit is complete! Re-racked and cabled with a new desk with more workspace and bass traps as monitor stands that also widen the stereo image to resolve a few monitoring issues I was struggling with. Can get back to recording, mixing and mastering in earnest!

FINALLY ARRIVED!!! My Chandler TG2 dual preamp with stereo summing. These are the preamps designed by EMI studios and used on Abbey Road by The Beatles and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. These will be summing and re-amping my mixes and masters to add some warmth and flavour. Can’t wait to fire them up!

Excited to test this baby out. Lovely transformer-warmed echo for vocals with an FX loop to add in some additional saturation with an overdrive pedal. All my favourite FX that I own or have ever owned are made by so many of their pedals on my wish list!

Tubecore Mastering Compressor joins the cave and completes the side rack. Very impressed with it so far. IGS make great quality gear. The mastering EQ has become a workhorse for my mix bus.

Johnny 2 rigs over here! The mini rig is a stereo line level board for synths and patching into my patch bay for recordings. The larger board is for my guitar and is mono along the bottom and stereo along the top feeding into my JC40 and my AC-15 for that sweet panning goodness. .us
