When Disaster Strikes | BMS World Mission
When the Ukraine war broke out, families torn apart by war fled to neighbouring countries like Poland and Baptist churches across Europe became humble heroes in the relief response.
Migongo Films was commissioned by BMS World Mission to capture stories from some of these communities near the Ukrainian border to demonstrate what impact the generous supporter donations are making to families like Lilli's.
This video was creates transparency and trust by demonstrating exactly how supporters money is being used BMS Work Mission and enabled them to engage with their supporter base by giving an insight into what their work looks like on the ground.
Imagine how a video like this could help you effectively engage with your audience and build rapport with supporters.

Home for Good | Supported Lodgings Campaign Video
I helped bring Home for Good's vision to life for their Supported Lodgings campaign video.
Sometimes charities aren't sure of the best approach to communicate their message when creating a video and I often bring fresh ideas and advice. However for this project, Home for Good had their own concept and script that simply needed to be brought to life.
By illustrating their scripted voice-over with beautiful footage and motions graphics that compliment their branding I was able to reenforce key messages, outlining the problem and solution before a clear call to action to inspire their audience to take action.
Alpha Leadership Conference 22 - Fundraising film
I love collaborating with others on creative projects like this one for the Alpha Leadership Conference 22.
Alpha tasked Migongo Films with creating a fundraising film for their Conference in 2022 to be streamed to over 150,000 people and ultimately help them continue offering their resources for free to everyone, everywhere.
They wanted a video that reflects the truly global nature of Alpha, and show the diversity of everyone impacted by the course and the scale of lives being changed. This meant working with locals crews spanning the globe in Johannesburg, Narobi, Kuala Lumpur and Rio de Janeiro before pulling it all together into one concise message. Custom music composed by Amos Cushi Pinnock helped tie it all together and immerse the viewers in each of the locations.
In addition to being streamed to 150,000 live attendees the film is also being used by national and regional teams for ongoing fundraising and donor communications throughout 2022.
48 Hours | Tetyana's story
Today feels like a significant milestone, I’m all packed up and heading on my first ‘post pandemic’ film trip!!!
Over the last couple of months I have been supporting BMS World Mission by creating a vision film to help communicate who they are and what they do and more recently to raise awareness and funds for their Ukraine appeal with footage received from partners on the ground.
But over the next few days I have the privilege of joining BMS to capture the stories of the lives broken by war but held together by BMS-supported projects in Poland. To show where the money is going that has been generously donated and the impact it is having in support of people whose lives have been turned upside down since 24th February.

Bambos the Honey-maker
"When I’m here with my bees, I feel like I’m speaking directly with God.” Bambos, Honey-maker
I visited the Cypriot village of Kalopanayiotis in Autumn, 2020 and encountered a beautiful hotel nestled in the side of the Marathasa valley. But more than this, I witnessed - and was warmly welcomed into a living community with Casale Panayiotis at the heart of it.
This luxury hotel resort was established with the inspirational vision of serving the local community by reviving the village and bringing an economic boost to the surrounding small business owners. People just like Bambos.
The brief was to capture stories of the people who are breathing life into ancient traditions; a community faithful to the mountain way of life and passionate about giving it a future.
The pandemic has obviously caused massive disruption in the tourism industry and local economies but the hope is that a series of short films like this and photography taken by Marcus Perkins & Tom Price on the same trip will give potential guests a taste of authentic Cypriot life and encourage more visitors to Kalopanayiotis moving forward.

The Well - Vision Film
I had a lot of fun creating this vision film to help launch a new Tearfund partnership called ‘The Well’. The goal is to reimagine how we can end global poverty, led by Black Christians and Black Majority Churches.
I filmed the scripted spoken word piece being performed by 8 different people to give a sense of the initiatives reach and diversity. This was then tied together by the bold visual branding, plenty of b-roll footage, bespoke music created by Amos Cushi Pinnock and some complimentary sound design to make it pop.
I'm really pleased with how this one came together and more importantly so is the client!

Designposts for London Design festival
It’s has been a pretty full on couple of weeks creating 11 short films for AHEC & the London design festival!
The Designposts project brings a series of wooden sculptures to the streets of London, each capturing the spirit of one of the festival's 10 dedicated design districts. And I was tasked with documenting the design, manufacturing and making process to tell the story from start to finish.
In addition to this main 2 minute project overview film, I also created 10x 60s films about each Designpost and the designers inspiration behind each one.
The initiative aims to pay tribute to the diverse history and creative culture of London’s neighbourhoods; to give emerging designers a platform to showcase their talent; to give festival-goers a free open-air exhibition of thought-provoking art and design; and to present the potential of an underused and highly sustainable material – American red oak – to Europe’s creative community.
NorthPoint Care- The Vision
I love helping charities grow their audience, raise awareness and inspire the action that will help achieve their goals.
Recently I have been supporting NorthPoint Care share their vision of serving and reforming the UK foster care system.
I created 2 films, one to be used as a short overview film on their website, and a 2nd slightly longer film (this one) that goes into more detail for screening at live speaking engagements.
The film features two interviews to create a narrative and I visualised the video with cameos by family and friends to represent the vulnerable young people NorthPoint have a passion to serve.

Ella's
Compelling storytelling while protecting the subjects identity is a skill I have developed over many years working with charities and vulnerable individuals.
This experience was recently put to good use when Ella’s commissioned an uplifting short film introducing what they do and why.
Ella’s is a London-based organisation working with women who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation. They are passionate about providing the best care for as many survivors as they can. And the film features Marie, one of the amazing survivors they have been supporting.
So here is Marie’s Story and an introduction to the fantastic work of Ella's
Rise Again | event promo
It had been some time since I was last asked to produce an event promo!
So it was great to get the creative juices flowing and create a short teaser and longer promotional video to advertise and generate excitement for ‘Rise Again’.
Rise Again is a live and online event designed to inspire an emerging generation starting out in their careers, to engage in issues of justice.
With a target audience of millennials, the brief was to create something energetic, inspiring, attention grabbing and informative that also communicates a sense of us emerging from the pandemic and giving a sense of hope for the future.
How did I do?

Tips for Home-Working
Are you new to working from home? I might have made a wee vloggy video for you...
A major challenge for any charity is funding.
We created this short video to help Storehouse with that! It promotes their new initiative called Storehouse 500 where they hope to find 500 people to give little but regularly to help them grow sustainably and build for the future.
Check out their great work for more information and see if you want to be part of the Storehouse500!

And big thanks to Andrew Dickson for the dulcet tones!
Since moving back to Northern Ireland I have really enjoyed plugging into the community at Storehouse
Not only do they provide great quality essentials to those in need throughout the city but they create spaces where community and individuals can grow.
So it was great that Migongo Films could support them over the last few months by producing a couple of film...this short film was created to advertise a new internship opportunity working across every aspect of Storehouse.
So if you live in Belfast check them out and get involved!
Salma’ Story | JUSTICE AND CARE
Salma dreamt of becoming a nurse.
One day on the way to school she was abducted, taken from her home town in Bangladesh across the boarder to India. She was sold to a brothel, beaten and abused.
We helped Justice and Care tell the story of how they located Salma, worked with police to rescue and reunite her with her family in Bangladesh. 🙌
‘The day I got my daughter back was the happiest day of my life.” - Salma’s father
This is the third in a series of films we produced for the inspirational charity Justice and Care and was created to inform and engage their supporters.
Help them bring more sons and daughters home.

Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland
Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland do so much more than map creation!
So they asked Migongo Films to create a dynamaic short film promoting the wide range of services that they provide to the public and private sectors. This is the result.
Carpenter Oak
Another Throwback Thursday and this one is a cracker!
I can't believe it has been 5 years since we created this film for Carpenter Oak to share the journey a tree embarks on in their talented hands before transforming into a stunning oak framed home.
And with over 45k views on vimeo it's great to see how effective this film has been at helping them engage with potential customers, inspire those embarking on their own projects and informing everyone how the magic happens.
Not only was this a great visual story to tell but I really loved the extra detail the motion graphics added and the level of comoplexity behind the craft that it hints towards.
Plenty more work old and new coming this way so keep your eyes peeled! #throwbackthursday
Malawi from the Sky
Realling enjoyed using the DJI Phantom 4 in Malawi. Here is just one of the shots I captured of our film stars demonstrating their new farming methods!
