Following an incident this morning in Uckfield town centre where medical attention was required, we would like to remind residents about the location of defibrillators around the town. ❤

🏥 There are a number of defibrillators in Uckfield, available 24/7, that can be used in the event of such an incident, with guidance provided for those using them.

⚠️ Please also note that the defibrillator here at The Civic Centre Uckfield will be unavailable for the next 24 hours due to being used this morning.

👋 Hello everyone!

We thought we would introduce ourselves to our newest followers…. I’m Genevieve, and together with my partner Steve, we run The Lounge, Uckfield’s hidden gem for connection, comfort and a dash of French flair.

We’re part café, part bar, part holistic hideaway, serving great coffee, Sussex wines, artisan cocktails and relaxed brunches that feel like a little escape from the everyday. Out back, our treatment room is a sanctuary for massages, facials and pure calm.

But what really makes us different is The Lounge Society, our women’s members’ community where connection, creativity and calm come together. From book clubs and craft sessions to singles socials, sound baths and cacao ceremonies, it’s all about meaningful moments and genuine friendships.

We often say we’re “the place you didn’t know you needed until you found us.”

After running a London business that Covid brought to an abrupt halt, we wanted to create something more soulful, a space where people can simply be.

Did you know that some window frames can be reinforced, so there may be no need to install a lintel when the window frame is replaced?

This cracking pattern is typical of a standard replacement window frame that can’t support the weight of the brickwork above it.

When replacing older windows, either a new reinforced window frame is needed or a lintel needs to be installed.

With funeral standards in the news this week, we wanted to provide reassurance about our services.

Our staff and premises adhere to national trade association SAIF's code of practice on standards. This means we will always care for families and their loved ones with the utmost respect and professionalism. Processes concerning our mortuary and ashes storage are all fully documented to provide a robust audit trail.

You can be reassured that we are assessed and approved by SAIF inspectors, and hold open days to show the public around our premises. These open days include sensitive tours of our storage areas to show how we meet the code of practice we adhere to.

We wish to provide our families with reassurance at every opportunity, so if you have any questions or queries or would like to visit our premises - please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
