Kings Hill Mums Community Magazine for parents living on Kings Hill, Kent. Kings Hill Mums is a new, free magazine to serve the many parents who live here. We do NOT charge VAT!

Kings Hill has a unique demographic with more young families living in one area than anywhere else in Kent (awaiting the official data from KCC). With more residential areas springing up all the time there are constantly new families moving into the area and Kings Hill Mums wants to make sure that everyone knows what’s available to them and their children, from pregnancy, baby and toddler through

to secondary school. The magazine will feature community news and events, local places and events, local businesses including local mums running businesses from home, Kings Hill Dads, family recipes, competitions, reviews and much more. FREQUENCY

The A5 magazine will initially print bi-monthly, publishing at the beginning of January, March, May, July, September and November, starting with September/October 2011. CIRCULATION

2500 copies of the magazine will be distributed in Kings Hill. These will go direct to parents through the book bag systems at Kings Hill School and The Discovery School. Copies will also be available from Kings Hill Pre-School, The Community Centre, Costa Coffee, The Medical Centre and many other places in Kings Hill where us mums can be found. EDITORIAL

If anyone is interested in supplying an article on any subject they feel will interest Kings Hill mums please get in touch. All suggestions will be warmly welcomed. ADVERTISING

I feel really angry about some of the vandalism on Kings Hill last night. Sarah must put hours of work into her postbox topper displays and I think her work is incredible. For some idiotic kids to just steal it (and probably dump it) must be soul destroying for her.

Also the destruction and theft from the house on the corner of Diana Walk that Jayne puts so much effort into for the joy of our children every year. I hope the kids are embarrassed and ashamed enough by their actions to apologise and restore it for her but I sadly doubt that will happen. Jayne was also trying to raise money for our local food bank. Can I suggest if you’re as outraged as I am that you make a small donation anyway?

Joseph and I have just had a fab hour at Spadework in Offham, wandering around their incredible pumpkin patch. There’s so much to entertain little ones. Check out the photos at the end that they have just sent me of their first PYO Pumpkin by Torchlight that took place last night. It looks amazing!! At around 2pm on Monday 21 October 2024, the body of a man was found in countryside near North Pole Road, Barming.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of a 49 year old man from Maidstone, who had been reported missing on Sunday 20 October, have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Another fabulous display from Kings Hill School tonight. I thought it was the finale about three times before it actually was and the weather could definitely have been worse.

This is the reality of living right next to a building site in Kings Hill at the moment. They turned this on bang on 8am, right outside my kids bedroom windows who are/were still asleep and then all walked off and left it. This is usually accompanied by constant shouting, swearing and smoking that wafts into the house too….😡 To give him his due, my husband just asked the guy today to turn it down and he immediately apologised and did 😊. I will work on my mood now and not tarring all builders with the same brush…🤣

No doubt that was the bomb 💣!!! Here is a fab video a resident took where you can hear it if you missed it because of the helicopter 🚁 drowning it out Discovery end.

It’s always exciting buying new boots/shoes but I am so giddy about these I’ve had to make a video!! I normally spend my winters in UGGS and I invariably wreck them on wet school runs. Yesterday I went to Soles with Heart and Michelle suggested these waterproof EMUs. Look how cool they are-the water just runs off and they immediately feel completely dry!!! ☔️💦💧

Superb firework display from Kings Hill School again. Very safe, very well organised and fantastic fireworks. Well done!💥🔥
