Posting is 'what if people wanted The Truman Show to be their lives...'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlnmQbPGuls

Twenty-three years ago everyone discussed how intrusive the concept of that film was and yet today we're all actually living our own 'Truman Show'.

Sharing, informing, educating, advertising, manipulating, gossiping, nosiness, curiosity, egotism, inciting, shallowness, boastfulness, love, pride, desperation, human contact.

It's all of these.

It's our diaries of yesteryear laid bare for all your world to see.

Your thoughts - many of which should have remained as fleeting, mad, crazy, nasty, impulsive and questionable ideas in your head - now shape and mould you because of who reads them.

You're understood, heard, judged, loved, pitied and pigeon-holed.

Twenty years ago many would have grown to a certain age and their diaries would have ended up in a memorabilia box to reminisce in older age.

But once switched on your social media 'diaries' go on and on and on like ticker tape or an AI programme.

What can I post today, do today, how can I impress someone, express myself...?

Perhaps you should be asking 'How can I set myself free from this hamster wheel?'

& studying in pride themselves in being informed and educated.
If we read both sides of a situation and the history we will understand the current situation.
If we stick to one source of information we will never understand the full picture.

Keep the clean of any hate and ignorance by informing yourself.
It's too easy to click and join in on a protest you don't understand and it's incredibly dangerous.
Campuses are a place of learning and evolving, let's keep them like that.

starts on Monday.
Many people are struggling mentally & lifting lockdown won't lift that drowning feeling.
Help point a friend you can see is struggling in the right direction or ask them how they are feeling - how they are really feeling.
It can make all the difference between hope and help and struggling alone.

Imagine a world where no new material things are made
Where there's minimal pollution because no new material things are made
Where everyone recycles clothes, bags, furniture and interiors because no new material things are made
For the last 12 months, due to a world pandemic, many of us bought no new material things
We all survived and found new ways to feel inner happiness and enhance our lives
Many of us now realise material things don't change anything
We experienced instead; media, learning, new hobbies, new forms of exercise, socialising with walkers, exchanging pleasantries, smiling at strangers
We have all become acquainted with this
Though embracing this unfamiliarity was like a sluggish train
Slowly and surely it built up momentum
And it's not something we can easily forget as if it never existed
We all rode this journey together
Yes, eventually lockdown will be lifted
But it can't go back to the way it was
Because for so many of us the way it was was broken
Many will carry on working from home
Interacting with a family who they forgot to engage with
Spend precious dinner time giggling, joking and sharing
Do we really need much more?
Who really benefits from mass-producing things people don't really need?
After 12 months of soul-searching did you find your inner happiness?
It's heart-breaking that businesses and shops have closed down and people have lost their jobs but maybe this is our chance to reset
From an awful year let's seek out the positive
Make everything that happened a catalyst to start afresh, try something new
You might have to or you might just want to
And by now you've probably worked out that the something new that will enrich your life probably isn't material
It's so much more
And it will warm your heart
That, I can imagine
A world with drum-beating hearts
Beating a vibrant pillar box red from love
The love sweltering across the world like a weather forecast map indicating a heartwave
Imagine that world

Ways to express :
*Write it down
*Talk to someone you trust
*Call, text or email a helpline - Breathing Space (0800 838587), SANE (www.sane.org.uk/textcare), Mind (0300 123 3393)
*Speak to a pet, if you have one
*Just let it all out - out of your headspace and into a caring, sharing place
You will feel better if you do this
Perhaps not right away but with tiny steps you'll get back to you
Clear the fog
Think of how you would like to feel 6 months from now
Imagine you are there
Tell your current self to keep going
You will get through this
But probably not alone
Seek help, please

Hey, You

Hey You, I’ve enjoyed your tweets
Your colourful language displayed best the only way you know how
You’ve enriched me though I have nothing I possess that can physically show for it
And yet it’s all mine
As far as the eye can see, to the ends of the Earth and back
You have given me hope
It was a difficult time and, let’s face it, you were doing most of the talking and I was mostly gawping, in awe
You’ll always be there for me, if
If I remember to love and care for you
If I no longer take you for granted
Without you I couldn’t have got through this
This ugly mess
We all needed you and who knew you’re only ever a few strides away
Past the concrete and the fuel guzzling and the humming and whirring
You’re there
And as I amble along you’re there too
You got me through this, so now it is I who tweets
To Share
Before this happened you were our hot topic
How we wouldn’t take you for granted
How we would love and respect you
We can almost see the light and, come Summer, things will be back
Of course you never left
Not if we look after you
So hey you
I love you to the ends of the Earth
Sweet nature, sweet planet
