“Heat and hormones aren’t the best combination! But with only 6 days left until bump’s arrival, I decided to brave the sunshine and headed to The Flamingo Cafe for some health food.
Situated down by Seaham Harbour, this independent cafe flexes its culinary muscles when it comes to serving up nutritional dishes.
From protein shakes and wellness lattes to superfood smoothies and oaty bowls, the menu is full of big guns 💪
Breakfasts range from classic eggs Benedict to The Aussie (3 folded eggs, avocado, crisp baked Parma ham and spinach) and the Fit For Pharaoh: toasted sourdough layered with avo, halloumi, fresh chilli, tomatoes, poached eggs, dukkha (a Middle Eastern condiment) pea shoots and garlic tahini cream.
It was fit for Pharaoh and a pregnant lass, and the garlic tahini and chilli added some ‘high intensity’ flavours.
If you manage to get an outdoor seat, you can listen to the waves and enjoy the Mediterranean esque views of Seaham beach.
