My food highlight of Paris had to be a visit to @melt_slow_smoked_barbecue in Oberkampf. Clearly a popular choice as they were very busy when I called by so I decided to grab a take away which I enjoyed in Jardin May-Picqueray, just around the corner. I ordered BBQ spare ribs, brisket and smash potatoes which was served with pickles. There was a lot of food for ā¬37 and that brisket blew my mind, so juicy and tender! Definitely the best spare ribs Iāve ever had the pleasure of eating too, beautifully cooked and so much meat on those bones. So glad I ordered those smash potatoes as well, served with chives and a garlic sauce. Such an impressive meal! I checked out @galbar_officiel on my recent trip to Paris as Iād heard they serve up some impressive cone shaped Galettes and CrĆŖpes. Iām so glad I did as they look and taste incredible! I ordered their Galbar Galette filled with ham, lettuce, egg yolk and balsamic cream (ā¬9.80). A beautiful combination and great way to enjoy a galette. Meat ānā Three by @danomeys in Norwich. This menu has been going for several weeks now and I called by to try it yesterday. Iām so glad I did as the food served here is always amazing and this was no exception. The menu changes weekly so expect a meat main (or fried chicken option) and choose 3 sides to accompany it for just Ā£12! I had a couple of extra sides on mine but you get the idea, excellent options to choose from too. I tried their Set 5 menu with pork ribs, sweet potato casserole, ranch cucumber salad, (extras were house chips and BBQ beans.) The ribs were coated in a beautiful sauce and there was plenty of meat on those bones. Their house chips are the best out there imo and my decision to try sweet potato casserole was a very wise decision indeed, loved it! We were invited along for lunch at The Mayfair Chippy in Knightsbridge. I took one look at their menu online and decided I was well up for this! It was difficult deciding what to try as everything on their menu sounded so good. After sipping a Negroni and an Aviation cocktail we finally decided on the following: Cornish salt and pepper squid, Kedgeree scotch egg, Fish finger butty w/ chips, Cod, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce & gravy, Christmas pudding trifle, House sherry trifle. A stunning meal from beginning to end with excellent service throughout. Highlights for me were the Kedgeree scotch egg with its runny yolk, definitely be sure to order this. The cod was beautifully cooked with a light crispy batter, served with the best tartare sauce Iāve ever eaten. āJingle my bellsā burger by Fupburger. A very spontaneous decision to try this as I was heading into the city for lunch today. So glad I did though, was a seriously tasty festive burger that I was able to pick up and eat without an issue. Between the pretzel bun was - Double smashed patties, American cheese, Bacon, Brie, Crispy shallots and smothered in a spicy cranberry sauce. As it was Friday it included a free pint which made the Ā£16 price tag seem really reasonable. I headed down to London to track down the Christmas sandwich by Sandwich Sandwich and it was well worth travelling for! Stacked between the bread thereās: Cranberry Sauce, Thick Cut Bacon, Sliced Turkey Breast, Pulled Turkey Thigh, Sage + Onion Sausage Stuffing Patty, Herby Mayonnaise, Crispy Onion + Parma Ham Crumble. Itās served with a pot of rich turkey gravy. This was a heavenly sandwich fully loaded with everything I love to see in a Christmas sandwich. I dipped the first half in that gravy pot which was sheer bliss. The second half I enjoyed later in the day, this kept me going all day!
