If you canāt decide between a roast and a burger then you need to try the Carvery Burger by Bun X at Micawbers in Norwich. Between the bun itās fully stacked with: Double smashed beef patties, American cheese, BX mayo and house pickles, Pork belly (or roast beef if you prefer), Cheesy bubble bites, Yorkshire pudding and Gravy. I didnāt even attempt to pick this up to eat it, that would have been insane! I removed the top of the bun and worked my way down using cutlery. Then added the bun again when I reached the patties, enjoying a double cheeseburger which I dipped in that rich gravy. All beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. You can buy this on its own for Ā£14.95 or do as I did and get it as a dunker feast tray for Ā£20. Well worth doing imo as for just over a fiver extra youāre getting this incredible burger served with 2 chicken tenders, salted fries and a dunker pot of gravy. You can also enjoy an ice cold pint of Krombacher served in a frozen glass at Micawbers. I was invited along to The Hilltop Cafe & The Stone Hill Bistro in Rackheath on the outskirts of Norwich to check out their breakfast. Their breakfast menu is served all day 7 days a week and features a selection of options ranging from Babaās breakfast (Ā£7.45) to The Builders Breakfast (Ā£13.45) or you can build your own. The StreetFood Box Gorleston are now at The Belle Vue in Gorleston serving up their burgers alongside a varied menu with something for everyone at great prices. All of their burgers are doubles and come with skin on fries and coleslaw for just Ā£10! I tried their pulled pork burger with their homemade pulled pork which is really good, as is their homemade bourbon BBQ sauce. Stacked with those double beef patties in a toasted brioche bun it was a seriously delicious burger. My wife enjoyed their veggie burger with double moving mountain patties, salad, jack cheese and burger sauce. The skin on fries here are excellent too, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the centre as you would expect from decent fries. We were invited along to try some new cocktails with lunch, so we headed along to the Norwich Branch of Giggling Squid and sat outside enjoying the bank holiday sunshine. The 4 new cocktails are available until the end of Spring are Paloma, Thai Breeze, Flirtini and Lychee Angel (alcohol free option). The Flirtini looked and tasted great with notes of raspberry and pineapple with vodka. The Lychee Angel is a refreshing alcohol free cocktail with lychee, soda and a hint of basil. We ventured into NR2 for breakfast at Harryās Soul Station this morning. The seating area outside is perfect when the sun is shining and thereās plenty of seating inside too. I ordered The Full English (Ā£13.95) and my wife ordered The Veggie (Ā£10.95). All beautifully cooked here and they use Archers Butchers meats and The Fruit Pig Company black pudding. I was invited along to Chi Restaurants in Chantry Place Norwich to check out some of their Pan Asian street food. Iād tried their food when they first launched and enjoyed it back then so was pretty confident Iād enjoy the food on this visit too. I chatted with the manager about the options on the menu and placed my order whilst enjoying a pint of Asahi which they have on draft. My wife joined me so we ordered some veggie dishes too. We ordered: Korean BBQ beef short rib bao bun, Crispy panko yasai bao bun, Sweet & sour chicken rice bowl, Panko yasai katsu curry rice bowl, Viatnamese dirty fries, Biscoff and chocolate hazelnut baoghnuts and Ice cream mochi. We really enjoyed the rice bowls but for me the highlight had to be the Korean BBQ beef short rib bao bun, loved that short rib and the juices were dripping out. As bao buns go very impressive indeed! Special mention too to those loaded fries, not over complicated but so effective and really crispy fries. The baoghnuts were pretty much a seaside doughnut served with ice cream with your choice of topping in terms of flavour, very nice indeed. Shake Shack invited me along to check out their new Breakfast menu. I jumped on the train in Norwich and got to the Mansion House branch where I met a friend with 15 minutes to spare.
