Wild 4 Usborne
Hi all, my name is Karen Ackers, but my maiden name was Wild, so this page Wild 4 Books - Independent Usborne Organiser is my tribute to my maiden name which I loved dearly. Also the number four ties in nicely to my wedding date and my son Theo.
I first came across Usborne Books when I was shopping for new books for my son. I just loved these Baby first word books and Touchy-feely playbooks, I even had a few other books in our collection, but didn't realise they were Usborne until I joined the Usborne team this year to become an Independent organiser. So now my son can have all the touchy feely playbooks I can get my hands on.
But how did I make that jump to become an organiser, well I went to a friends Usborne Book Party around Christmas 2017, I filled out a form for my friend, initially wasn’t even thinking for myself, then my not mentor at the time got talking about free holidays, free books incentives and the low start up cost of just £38, I quickly became sold. My mentor made it sound so easy with really nothing to lose, I had, well, nothing to lose! And it is easy, you can make it as easy or busy and profitable as you like, do the hours / days that you want (nap times and nursery day for me), build your children’s libraries up, or maybe you want a little wage for yourself, or the skies the limit. So with a lot of persuading the husband, and myself, I took the jump to find me and my confidence again. Along with some gorgeous books for my Son, friends and family, also a little spending money for me and my Son as I am a stay at home mum. So we shall see where the books take me.
The plan is to sell the books through home parties to friends and family and their friends and family and so on, then when I get my confidence up, take it to toddler groups fetes, fairs, cafes and who knows maybe even Schools, Nurseries and Libraries.
