Some years ago I bought a Jazz record collection in a village outside Nottingham. Included was this “signed” album by Roland Kirk. The gig was in Nottingham at the Cooperative Education Centre in 1963 and yesterday I found a flyer for that gig on line. Now, Mr Kirk was blind from the age of two but my customer insisted that he signed this album for him in his presence after the show. I also read that Roland’s wife used to sign stuff on his behalf but I can’t see many examples of either on line. Nice though. Any thoughts?

Now this is a gig that I would like to have attended back in 1969.
Peter Bellamy was a fine singer in the Norfolk tradition and made many great records. He died aged 41 in 1991. This rare flyer was inside a Young Tradition album that I bought as part of a collection.

"The Young Tradition's final concert was at Cecil Sharp House in October 1969, after which they split up, with Bellamy wanting to concentrate on traditional English music, whilst the other members had developed interests in mediaeval music"

More nice records in today at the home of ceidilh. All originals, about 75 in total. They were owned by the original guitarist in The Locomotive (Norman Haines). Sadly, he has passed away and for the last years of his life fronted a band called The Statins who played the pubs in the East Midlands. Every day is a schoolday.

An interesting piece. Freddie Mercury - The Solo Collection. Presented in a 16” x 12” card slip case. 10 CD’s + 2 DVD’s. 120 page book. A beautiful thing for the discerning Queen/Freddie fan and at a good price too. Nr Mint/ VG+, minor shelf rub on the outer card case.

Another unofficial item. This time The Beatles Box Set. Made in China and sold very well until people started to notice some spelling errors in the text.

13 CD Box Set + 2 CD collection of all the Beatles non album singles and EP tracks and the Mini Documentaries series DVD.

This is an immaculate copy, most of it unplayed. Each album is in its own card gatefold sleeve with insert. There is a little nudge to the rear of the box in the bottom left and right hand corners. A lovely package.

Note: This is the "unofficial" version that was made in China and sold openly in the UK. . There are a few spelling errors here and there but overall quite a package. More images if required.
