Here’s a brilliant little Xmas record for you. The last record that we released on TOR Records (for now) was a very limited run of 20 lathe cut 7” copies. Peter Parker’s Rock N Roll Club - Merry Christmas Everybody, two versions in differing keys. It was given away as a freebie to those who helped with the label down the years. Get you dancing shoes on. Merry Christmas one and all
A few years back there was a cunning plan to host some “garden parties” at what was then St. Bede’s School, now sadly closed. It was an upmarket private Catholic prep school that attracted many Spanish students and the shop was full several times of them telling me that Real Madrid was the best side in the world. I would regale them with horror stories (invented) of education under the Christian Brothers.
Anyway, I got to know two of the masters very well and we worked on this project. It didn’t get off the ground for several reasons, insurance being one of them. The stage was going to be on front of the garden temple. It is now owned by Hansons auctioneers and has a series of craft shops. It would have been a great venue.
Many thanks to everyone who rolled up at Those Old Records, Rugeley today. We have been very busy all day and a special “hello” to our new customers. It’s been a busy week all round. Back Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Off to see more records on Monday so you never know what will happen. Here’s a little video that you might like. Cheers Chris.
