A face for Radio :)

Hello,

For those of you that know me you may have realised that I have a huge passion for blues music, as well as being able to play it in my own band (www.dcblues.co.uk) I am lucky enough to be able to broadcast the music I love on the radio. This is something I fell in to quite by chance after appearing as a guest on a local radio station, obviously my quick wit and sense of humour left an impression as I was asked if I was interested in becoming an understudy for one of the regular presenters. This eventually led to me having my own “live” show on “Vale Radio” where I had regular guests playing in the studio, it was a real flying by the seat of your pants experience. Unfortunately that particular radio station ceased to be so I was in the radio wilderness for 6 months before being approached by Scarborough based “Coast & County” radio to present a weekly 2hr pre-recorded blues show . During this period I was also made a member of the IBBA (Independant Blues Broadcasters Association) and I am privy to all of the new blues releases from either bands themselves or through Record Companies. I literally have 1000’s of tracks, almost too many to play so I am able to pick and choose what I feel are the best out there, I also play some of the older traditional and classic blues but mainly feature new releases. Anyway, back to the point. I left “Coast & County” after a few months and joined Wetherby based Tempo FM where I present “The Blues Hour” every Wednesday at 10pm, again this is pre-recorded in my own home studio. “The Blues Hour” has also been picked up by Hanks Blues Radio in the US as well as Radio Stockton & Radio Stitch in the UK, it has also been nominated several times in the Yorkshire Gig Guide grass-roots awards. From November 2019 I will also be presenting a weekly 2hr show on York based “Jorvik Radio”, this is a brand new venture that is very exciting as I will be broadcasting live again with guests in the studio. I don’t follow a script, I just open my mouth and speak down the mic, sometimes I spout absolute rubbish but I don’t care, I love what I do and consider myself very fortunate to be in this position.

Are you still reading this....?????

Anyway, I thought I would create my own FB Page to host all of my Podcasts and information about any upcoming shows. I’d love you to have a listen, you can even provide feedback if you want (all negative feedback will be removed by the Admin (me) :)
