…performing Postcards From Lost Places (and possibly an 80s synth pop cover) at these handpicked venues, selected for their resonance with regeneration and a personal connection to me.

Sharing songs with a live audience means the world to me and it feels important to work towards making live music something everyone can enjoy. Thanks to Ostara Music for working with the venues on making ticket prices as affordable as possible - where we can on this tour, the first 20 tickets sold for each gig are priced at £10 each.

Maddie Morris Music releases new single 'The IT Teacher' + RnR magazine feature.

I first saw Maddie perform this song a couple of years ago at a festival. As they introduced the song I was lulled into thinking it would be a happy story of how they were seen and supported by a teacher during their school years. So it was shocking when it turned out to be the opposite. And then doubly so when I realised this was a personal story, and that the teacher in question was still in post, years later, unchallenged, spreading their hatred and prejudice.

It's one of the reasons I wanted to work with Maddie. Their beauty and grace in the face of such intolerance and prejudice, the joy, celebration and hope that they infuse into their music whilst quietly and gently laying bare the injustices and personal consequences q***r people face. They are a shining beacon, an important role model for young people on similar journeys, and a voice for tolerance and acceptance. Their songs need to be heard and I'm delighted to be helping them on this journey.

Today, the IT Teacher is out as a single, and if your extra cool you might have seen me chat about it in RnR Magazine

In the interview I mentioned how almost every time I sing the track at a gig, someone will tell me about similar experiences they’ve had. To me, that is kinda why all of this is so important, because the more we can talk to folk who understand the less shame that lives surrounding this kind of thing.

We are delighted to announce that Cole Stacey has joined the Ostara Music roster as he prepares to release his debut solo album in early 2025.

Cole Stacey is a visceral and lyrical songwriter, singer and musician who has roamed the highest diverse echelons of British folk, 80s pop, spoken word and ambient electronics. From The Royal Albert Hall to The Westfalenhalle Arena, from 700-year-old castles in Gdansk to Glastonbury Festival.

As one half of alt-folk duo India Electric Company alongside Joseph O’Keefe, Cole has recently been found on prime-time live sessions for BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music with KLOF declaring them “one of the truly pioneering acts in folk music” and BBC Radio 1 describing them as “A full musical odyssey”. Since 2015 Cole has been accompanying legendary pop icon Midge Ure on everything from mandolin to bass Guitar, analogue synthesizers to vocals, across sold-out tours of Australia, New Zealand, UK, Scandinavia and Germany.

With explorations into traditional songwriting and verse in his blood, Cole will be sharing his extraordinarily honest debut album in early 2025 to audiences far beyond his Dartmoorian horizons.
