We had a lovely time at the Memorial Day. It was very nice to see lots of friendly faces. Everyone is always so welcoming and I love how they take time to chat with Jacob 🥰 And despite the rain we got to see the Spitfire fly past 😊
Jacob is the Young Ambassador and we always like to visit the Memorial especially on days like this one, which is the 30th anniversary of the unveiling of the National Memorial to The Few. We also sponsor the name of an airman on the Memorial Wall. This pilot has the same surname and initials as Jacob - Sergeant B J Jennings DFM 19 Squadron. Jacob wanted to take some flowers today 🥰
You can also sponsor a name, visit battleofbritainmemorial.org and super exciting news that they are raising money to extend the Hunting Lodge for an exciting new aerial dog fight simulator experience and new display of Battle of Britain artefacts to educate future generations. This is a charity with no public funding so it would be great to raise the funds needed to bring this battle to life.

We don’t need asking twice if we would like to visit the Imperial War Museum Duxford, especially when there’s an air show on! Our son, Jacob, 11, is aircraft obsessed! Having a particular love of Spitfires.

{AD} I took so many pictures and video it was such a great day out.
I always learn something new when we visit Duxford, mainly from our Spitfire/plane obsessed son, Jacob! Also the fab air show commentators and staff/volunteers at IWM Duxford.
We arrived at 8am and still didn’t see everything!

Can’t quite believe we have an 18 year old in the house!

My first attempt at making a cake like this. Labour of love for my daughter. Took me 17 hours to make in the end. Thank you for your fabulous YouTube tutorial.
I didn’t have a clue what to do and your easy-to-follow tutorial helped me make something I’m very proud of and my goth daughter loves!

Happy Halloween!
Our pumpkins are carved 🎃🎃🎃
Everyone did a great job.
I carved our husky Sky.
Took ages and a big bit fell off but cocktail sticks to the rescue and I managed to save it!
Our son Jacob is mad on James Bond at the moment so he did the 007 one all on his own!

What a lovely afternoon at The Battle of Britain Memorial for Memorial Day. As Young Ambassador, Jacob was invited as one the lucky ones who was allowed to attend this event. We got to see a Hurricane, and 2 spitfires fly over and meet family of The Few who flew in the Battle of Britain and listened to some fascinating stories. What a lovely day 😊

After working 14 hours on Saturday, I decided to buy and print out a Tilly and the Buttons Lyra dress pattern.
I spent that night (until 2.30am) sticking the 42-pages of A4 together and cutting it out while drinking Baileys (only when I had almost finished matching up the pattern, didn’t want it skew whiff 🤪) and listening to The Doors. I felt like one of the elves from the Elves and the Shoemaker when everyone else was asleep 😂
I love to sew but never really have the time. But after watching Sewing Bee, I had this idea in my head that I wanted to make a dress.
I have quite a big fabric stash. I love buying old sheets/duvet covers from charity shops. This fabric was a bed sheet that I bought for £1.75 ages ago!
Over the next couple of days, I’ve made this beauty. I finished it this evening!
Really great instructions and I did buttons, a collar, pockets (round the right way) and the belt loops all for the first time!!
I’m so proud of it and I’ve actually made something I will wear!🧵

I’m so lucky that I love my job and work with a small unbelievably dedicated team of people who produce these papers each week. Very proud of all of us 😊
