Video is versatile - with so many styles and techniques, there’s more than one way to convey important messages and make them stick.

Animated infographics have all the benefits of static infographics - condensing lots of information into an easily digestible format - with an added layer of visual charm and clear branding.

This is just snippet of a video infographic we worked on with Keolis Amey Docklands to celebrate milestones and achievements over the last decade on their 10-year anniversary of operating the Docklands Light Railway Network .

Talk about 10 years in a nutshell!

Video infographics can be used for various campaigns both internally and externally. And we love helping our clients bring a point of difference to their video content that’s energetic and eye-catching.

They’re an effective tool for education and training because they simplify complex concepts and enhance engagement. Plus, they make learning more accessible in e-learning courses and business training programs by presenting all the key information in an easily digestible format.

This video of highlights over a decade is much more interesting and engaging than a static timeline might be. Plus, 10 years is a long time so a video helps to bring all those achievements together without having to worry about fitting it on the page!

Who are you going to listen to? Real people with real advice or a random face with sound bites🤔

Don’t be afraid to put your people in front of the camera, especially for internal communications campaigns - it brings meaning and authenticity to the message you’re trying to convey.

These behind the scenes shots show some of the different team members we worked with from Keolis Amey Docklands to create a series of informative videos giving valuable guidance to colleagues on navigating the internal job application process.

The goal was to equip DLR staff with the tools and confidence to apply for new roles within the organisation.

Featuring familiar faces from across the organisation and using a personable approach meant the videos were relatable, accessible and engaging, not to mention helping to create a sense of community and support among employees encouraging them to take the next step in their careers.

The series includes five videos, each focusing on an aspect of the application process: researching a role, improving your CV, writing a cover letter, preparing for an interview and receiving feedback.

We worked with the willing volunteers to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera and draw out their personality and energy - they were super stars 🌟

Everyone had lots of helpful, practical advice that we then transformed into punchy, bite-sized videos - perfect for checking out during a lunch break, before taking that next step on the career ladder.

If you’re looking for ways to make video content more relatable for an internal communications audience, getting your people in front of the camera can make all the difference and we can help! Get in touch to discuss your project!

How are you celebrating Pride Month?

Last year, we were honoured to work with Welcome Break and their incredible team for 'PRIDECast' which was created for both their internal and external communications.

This series of podcasts was all about understanding the journeys and celebrating the diversity of the people behind Welcome Break, as well as their special, unique stories.

The beauty of podcasts is that they create such an intimate atmosphere for the listener. Through videoing episodes, you can bring an extra dimension to the experience for your audience.

Working alongside their incredible team, we set up a popup podcast studio at one of Welcome Break's motorway service areas, dressed the studio to create a fabulous Pride-themed space and installed video equipment that would capture but not interfere with these special conversations.

Over a series of four episodes and 44 shorts, the Welcome Break PRIDEcast shared some beautiful and compelling personal stories.

There are so many ways you can use video to enhance and celebrate inclusion and diversity. From podcasts to video content for multiple channels, if you're looking for innovation and creativity to help bring these important issues to life, get in touch for a discovery call.

Recently, we were briefed to capture people focused photography to support Welcome Break launch their new brand.

Our initiative was entirely people focused, shining a spotlight on the dedicated individuals who make up the Welcome Break team across their various brands and outlets across the country. This campaign was designed to celebrate the diverse and hardworking team members who contribute to the company's success every day.

The images will be used on the company website, across social media platforms, and to create eye catching print materials. These materials were not only used internally, but also externally to enhance Welcome Break's brand image and connect with their customers.

🎥 CASE STUDY 🎥

This one’s a throwback to a brief we received from global entertainment company, Entain.

The team approached us as they were planning to launch a new online self-declaration tool for their employees, to collect and record HR information.

Both the information being gathered and the tool were new, so they asked us to help engage their global teams around both the WHY and the HOW❓

As the tool was being launched across the globe and across different languages and cultures, we decided to use a simple animation to clearly describe the concept and process.

In creating the HOW elements of the video, we replicated almost identical UI screens but in an animated format, to ensure the engagement materials looks similar to the real life tool.

The result was a smooth launch with a high participation rate in the process across Entain’s global sites. 🌍

It's National Creativity Day!

We put creative flair into every project that we work on, from pre-production, to the filming, the edit, all the way to the videos getting used on digital platforms, the whole team have a creative input.

Look how colour grading can transform video content!

These clips show original, ungraded LOG footage alongside the colour-graded, final version. Can you see the difference?

We mostly shoot using Cinema cameras and always film in LOG, which is a video format that captures more colour and brightness information than regular video. But as you can see, the footage appears very flat and almost black-and-white, which might be unappealing at first glance.

By filming in LOG, we can manipulate the colours of a scene to fine-tune every detail and achieve the exact look, whether we want vibrant, saturated colours or a more muted, cinematic palette.

LOG footage and colour grading means we can enhance visuals with precision, deliver on-brand aesthetics and hit creative targets.

Take a look at some of our other projects to discover the different looks that can be achieved with colour grading: https://www.dmbfilms.co.uk/

Behind the Scenes!

This behind-the-scenes look reveals how our collaboration with Cunard brought their archery experience to life for guests on Queen Anne's maiden voyage!

In his role as Creative Producer, Elliot transformed the concept from initial briefings to the final production on shoot day.

Billy played dual roles, operating the A Cam and managing data transfer throughout the shoot.

Anusha also took on multiple roles as our production assistant, behind-the-scenes videographer, and the editor of this video!

Dan, our director, guided the team through the shoot.

We were fortunate to have Paul, our extended team member, as Director of Photography for the day!

The team at Welcome Break wanted to create an attention-grabbing video that not only captivated their internal colleagues but also resonated with their external followers across various social media platforms.

Their goal? To spark conversations and generate interest in their new charity collaboration with the National Emergency Trust, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact, beyond their day to day business endeavors.

If you're looking to spread awareness of a charity you support, or want to share your brand's story, contact us today!

How do you bring an experience to life when it doesn’t exist yet?

This snippet is from a video we worked on with Cunard to launch a new archery experience on board their brand-new ship, Queen Anne, where we did just that.

The brief was to create a video of the experience to entice guests.

The challenge was that the experience didn’t exist yet.

To meet the challenge, we scoured the UK to find a suitable studio large enough to reflect the scale of the yet-to-be-launched archery range. Settling on the brilliant, in Worcester, we worked closely with the Cunard brand team and consultants from to create the video.

Using real props and equipment from the on-board archery range, we were able to bring the experience to life.

In the edit, we also used subtle, on brand animation to highlight details, evoke feeling and emphasise universal appeal.

Working with us to create this video enabled Cunard to launch the experience to guests on the first day of the Queen Anne’s maiden voyage! Look out for our behind-the-scenes video to see how we brought all the elements together on the day of the shoot.

🎬 Behind The Scenes vs The Final Video 🎬

Recently we shared a video of a Triumph Bobber that we created for The Great Motorcycle Giveaway . Here's the main ad we produced for them featuring 11 of their bikes.

There's also two behind the scenes views so you see how we lit the bikes and filmed them. We filmed all of the wide, establishing shots on the Sony FX6 on a track, which was pushed in towards the bike.

All of the detail shots were taken on a mix of an a Sony A7Siii with a macro lens on a motorised slider and a Sony A7IV on a DJI Ronin RS2 Gimbal.

Lighting wise, the main light source was from above where we bounced an Aputure 600X off of a large diffusion sheet. This was complemented with an Aputure 300D with light dome and 2 x KinoFlo 6ft banks as kickers.

The real challenge with this shoot was managing reflections as the angles and reflective surfaces were different on each bike.

Triumph Bobber for The Great Motorcycle Giveaway 🏍️

Here's a video from one of 11 bikes we had the pleasure of filming in the studio earlier this year for The Great Motorcycle Giveaway.

To achieve the look for this project we built a black box to place the bikes in, lit them by bouncing light from a huge diffusion sheet overhead using a track for our main camera.

The project required a lot of work in post production to achieve the black out background look.

Look out for a behind the scenes post explaining our set up and process.

Meet Anusha! 👋

“As a Junior Creative my role is to assist shooting projects with our Videographer and film the BTS of our shoots - all the juicy bits of us working hard and loving what we do!

I’ve always been passionate about film making, it’s my way of expressing myself and telling a story without words. Creativity is in my nature, it excites and drives me to conduct a narrative, arranging elements of mise en scène.

Fun fact about me… I have a sweet tooth, and can’t get enough of coffee! ☕️

After attending UCA achieving a 2:1 in film production with a specialism in cinematography I was working as a freelance videographer and photographer in Dubai for a variety of clients.

I’m now thrilled to be working with DMB films with such a wonderful team!” 🎥

Recently, some of the team headed to Welcome Break South Mimms to shoot an exciting project... The opening of the first Taco Bell on the UK motorway network!

We absolutely love working with the whole team at Welcome Break to create engaging content for both internal and external communications.

🔎 Planning is key 🔎

We put just as much energy and effort into pre-production as we do into shooting and editing.

Storyboarding and creating shot lists to guide our productions are an integral part of of our working practices, to ensure our clients know what to expect from the final video, are able to input ideas and to guide our production & post-production teams.

Often we'll create written storyboards and shot lists and when projects require it, we'll create illustrated storyboards.

Here are a couple of frames from a storyboard from a recent recruitment ad project for Cunard Cruises.
