Dennis Bovell is one of the founders of UK Reggae and Lovers Rock. Having written, produced, performed and engineered a massive amount of material that has come to define the UK Reggae, Dub, Post punk, pop, R&B and Indie Sounds. He is behind artists such as Janet Kay, co-wrote and produced the famous hit 'Silly Games' and was behind the sound of Dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson. He has also worked wi

th other artists such as Alpha Blondy, The Slits, The Pop Group, Fela Kuti, Marvin Gaye, Arcade Fire, Joss Stone, Hollie Cook, General Roots and other artists all over the world. He re-leased some of the seminal dub albums in history 'I Wah Dub' and 'Strictly Dubwize' to name a few. He has a bag of tracks for re-release aswell as material that never has been released but deserve too. Old School is the label where we aim to make this happen. It was originally released in 1997 on LKJ records

A special release on download for my 71st Birthday!!

On this release I am experimenting with worldwide sounds and instruments such as Berimbao and Saz , playing them myself. It was a lot of fun!
The fine selection of UK musicians that is 'The Dub Band' feature on this album. All BIG musicians in their own right.
