The Exotic Beatles series started way back in 1993 when this collection of the most bizarre Beatles cover versions ever recorded was launched on the unsuspecting public. It was an instant hit and was followed by two further volumes... Now, after a 12 year break, the series continues with EXOTIC BEATLES 4 and it's the best yet with contributions from Russia, (Bugotak

, who accompany throat singing with native Siberian instruments, Boney Nem who 'cover pop songs of the 60s & 70s in the thrash-death metal style with growling vocals', Ariel, a vocal and instrumental ensemble who's recent album 'Beatles In The Russians' blends classical and folk with a good dose of humour and 7B, an experimental band from Kazan who recorded their track for a Russian version of the Exotic Beatles). Baba Yaga feature members from Hungary and Ireland alongside Russian throat singers Karagod and contribute a unique version of 'Back In The USSR'. Orkestra from Turkey provide a belly-dancing 'A Hard Day's Night' while Bozo Allegro from the USA feature two tracks from their 'Revolver Suite' album which follows the development of African-American music through the vehicle of that Beatles album. Also featured are tracks by Assagai, Brian Sewell, The Thurston Lava Tube, Neck Valve, Klaus Beyer the Beatles-obsessed candlemaker from Germany, Shan Kuan Liu Yun from Singapore, Quartetto Da Cinque from Catalonia and Banda Plastica De Tepetlixpa from Mexico as well as the usual singing chickens and dogs with accompanying soundbites and Beatles-related tit bits.
