For those that either haven't had a letter from subscriptions or read the email newsletter or use Twitter. Unfortunately, we have some sad news:
After 19 years in publication, Linux User & Developer magazine will be closing.
The next magazine, on sale 20th September, will be the last issue.
Due to the swift nature of the closure (we're coming up to the end of our financial year), we weren't able to make the final magazine much of a commemorative issue, but we wanted to thank all our readers for supporting us for so long and joining us on our journey in Linux, Free & Open Source software.
For me personally, Chris Thornett, it's been a pleasure and I encourage you to keep creating and contributing to open source projects. You are, quite literally, the ones that make it happen.
You can make a difference
And you can change things.
For those that have heard the news already, sorry for another reminder. We're just trying to make sure that everyone is aware.
Again, the last issue will be 196, Optimise Linux, on sale this Thursday at all good newsagents.
As there won't be a member of the team maintaining the Linux User & Developer group, we'll be closing that but the Facebook LU&D page will likely stay. We can't guarantee what content you will see (more deals and Future publishing promos, we imagine).
Thanks for reading and all the best!
