Ever heard of “tutorial hell”? It’s that trap where you spend hours watching coding videos, Cybersecurity tricks, reading guides, consuming tech content and feeling productive, but when you finally sit in front of a blank screen or IDE to build something on your own… nothing happens. You freeze, because you’ve learned to follow, not to create.

The real skill isn’t in memorising React lecture, 10 more LeetCode problems, it’s in actually building, breaking things, struggling through confusion and shipping something that’s yours. Tutorials are tools, not destinations. At some point, you have to close the tabs and start. That’s where developers are made. 💡🔥

You ever get that mini heart attack when a cloud bill email hits your inbox? 😅

Same here.
Every… single… month.

Using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI, IBM Cloud, and Cloudflare as an individual (not a company with enterprise budgets!) means one wrong click, one rogue VM, one misconfigured storage volume, and boom your soul leaves your body. 💀

But thankfully my bills and cloud usage are usually monitored with strong billing alerts and capped budgets!

What I’ve learned?
Some cloud services are basically harmless… and some can nuke your bank account overnight. So having alerts, budgets, and auto-shutdowns saves me from pricey and potential mistakes many times.

Cloud tinkering is fun, you get to learn a lot, but the billing anxiety is real! 😅

In the last few days, I noticed my home network was unusually chatty, the home assistant dashboard and elastic were picking up something interesting…
So I checked my Pi-hole, and wow - over 2,200 DNS requests were blocked. The biggest culprit?

logs.netflix.com 😅

I guess Netflix is just trying to help me curate my Christmas watchlist ahead of time!…very thoughtful of them!

Jokes aside, my webOS TV, phone, and even apps I rarely open are constantly sending data, quietly in the background, even while I'm asleep.

Exactly why I set up Pi-hole: a free, open-source tool that acts as a DNS-level ad/tracker blocker for your whole network.

It’s wild how much information our devices try to share even when we’re not using them.

You don’t need to be tech savvy to take back a bit of digital control.
Privacy isn’t paranoia, it’s digital hygiene.

From 2022 to 2025, I dedicated over two years of my life pursuing a Master’s degree where my research focused on machine learning for crime and fraud detection – a topic that’s now more relevant than ever in both enterprise risk management and real-world AI deployment.

This is not a jump on some "AI trend", I was already immersed in this field long before it became mainstream hype.
I wasn’t just learning models. I was building, validating, and researching how predictive algorithms can help detect anomalies and flag suspicious activities, before they become threats.

Now, with certifications in:
• Oracle Certified AI Foundations
• AWS Certified AI Practitioner
• AWS Machine Learning Engineer (in progress)
• Azure AI Engineer Associate (in progress)
I am not chasing trends – I’m simply solidifying and validating the practical expertise I’ve already built by adding industry-recognised certs.
The intersection of AI, hyperscalers (cloud), and cybersecurity is where the future is headed. And I’m already walking that path!

Wrapped up a pretty intense (but incredibly rewarding) few months by adding a few more milestones to the journey:
✅ Fortinet Certified Associate – Cybersecurity
✅ Oracle Certified AI Foundations / Professional Track
✅ Oracle Certified Multi-Cloud Architect

I’m continuing to build a career at the intersection of cloud, AI, and cybersecurity — making sure that the same systems driving intelligence and innovation also remain secure, compliant, and resilient across multi-cloud environments!

Got off work in the past hour, logged on to my Cloudflare dashboard and noticed dozens of automated probes against my domain.

Most weren’t even trying to “visit” the homepage at all, they were aggressively scanning for files like /robots.txt, /sitemap.xml, or even /.env (which, if exposed, could leak secrets).

The good news? Cloudflare quietly blocked or challenged the vast majority before they ever touched my server. With Cloudflare Tunnel in place, my virtual machines no longer has any inbound ports open. All traffic flows through Cloudflare’s edge, where DDoS mitigation, bot filtering, and Web Application Firewall rules kick in before a single request even reaches my server, all with a few clicks and toggle on buttons!

In the past I relied on tools like Nginx proxy manager, fail2ban, Wazuh with Suricata and manual firewall rules to keep things safe - which worked, but also meant constant tinkering and exposure to the internet putting me on a digital warpath!

It’s a reminder that cybersecurity isn’t just about big breaches in the news, it’s about filtering out the constant background noise of bots and scans, every single day!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

This year’s theme is “Stay Safe Online” - a reminder that small, everyday actions make a big difference in protecting your digital life.

✅ Create strong passwords & use a password manager – long, random, and unique for every account.
✅ Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – add an extra layer of security where possible.
✅ Recognize & report scams – stay alert to phishing and other common tricks.
✅ Keep your software updated – updates patch vulnerabilities that attackers exploit.

👉 How you can get involved:

Educate yourself & others – share tips with friends, family, and colleagues.

Use free resources – like those from [CISA.gov].

Join campaigns – take part in online activities throughout October to spread awareness!

Together, let’s make the internet safer for everyone. 🌍💻

Trump just hosted a dinner at the White House with almost every big tech CEO:
Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Sam Altman, Tim Cook, Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai, Alexandr Wang, Sergey Brin, Safra Catz, Lisa Su and more.

The main question on the table:
“How much are you investing in America?”

Zuckerberg and Cook said $600B each. Pichai pledged $250B. Nadella reported $80B a year.

They also talked AI in schools, funding education, and even eradicating diseases.

Trump called them the “High IQ group.”

This is the government and Big Tech openly negotiating the future: money, power, and who gets to shape what comes next.

Tech is no longer just about building software or the apps we use every day. It has become infrastructure, policy, and influence deciding how economies grow, how education evolves, how healthcare advances, and even how nations compete.

The people in that room are power brokers at the same table as presidents. The scale of their investments shows us that AI and technology are now pillars of global order, not just tools of convenience.
