JOB: Social Media Assistant | Cumbria📍🎥

Are you the friend who’s always got their phone out, filming the moment, capturing the vibe, and turning it into scroll-stopping content? 👀

We want you on our team in Whitehaven.

We’re Platinum Live, a multi-award winning PR and communications agency based in Cumbria, Manchester and London.

We’re on the lookout for a creative, ambitious, and social-media obsessed individual to join us.

What you’ll be doing:
•Creating engaging photo and video content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook & beyond
•Helping plan and schedule posts for clients & campaigns
•Coming up with fresh ideas that cut through the noise
•Supporting the team on exciting PR projects and events

What we’re looking for:
•Confident using social media platforms and tools (bonus if you know your way around Canva and CapCut etc)
•Positive, proactive, ready to learn and confident on camera
•West Cumbrian based (our office is in Whitehaven)

Hours: Part-time (flexible depending on applicant)
Contract: 6-month initial contract (with potential to grow!)
Salary to be discussed on application. Around £13-15 per hour.

Bright and early at 6am for a visit to BBC Breakfast this morning with client Gary McKee as he discussed his 100toLDN challenge which kicks off in January.

Gary will run 100 marathons in as many days and finish by completing the 2026 London marathon. He aims to raise £100k for local charity Hospice at Home.

🌍 We were proud to invite our client Invacare Europe to the Lake District this week for a beautiful 7-mile walk along the Keswick to Threlkeld all-accessible route in support of the campaign.

This incredible initiative raises funds for Invacare's partner, Free Wheelchair Mission who gift life-changing wheelchairs to people in remote communities worldwide.

Marathon man Gary McKee joined us and enjoyed being involved. He said: “We often take free movement for granted, but for many, a wheelchair means independence and dignity. Free Wheelchair Mission restores hope and opportunity through their work. The walk with Invacare was a brilliant way to support this life-changing cause."

Every £72 raised transforms a life with the gift of mobility and every donation really does matter.

Great to be in the company of fellow Cumbria partners CreativeHutch and Quakka Media Group.

Platinum Live are thrilled to be joining forces with the incredible teams from CreativeHutch, Quokka Media Group, and some of our friends, family and partners for our client Invacare’s global fundraiser, Move for Mobility. 🙌🏻

Together, we’re raising vital funds to provide basic wheelchairs to people in remote and under-resourced regions around the world through the amazing work of Free Wheelchair Mission - wheelchairs which will transform lives.

Last year, this initiative helped gift nearly 300 wheelchairs to those in need. This year, we’re determined to play our part in making an even bigger difference. 🙏

The Platinum Live team will be coming together for a fundraising event later this month and committing to move more throughout May - all in support of this life-changing cause... watch this space!

We’re thrilled to announce that our MD, Ollie, is in the running for not one, but three awards this season!

He’s a finalist for Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Rising Star of the Year at the Prolific North Champions Awards, and he’s also in the running for Media & Marketing Professional of the Year at the Insider Awards.

Both ceremonies take place in Manchester – with Insider’s happening later this month and Prolific North’s following in May.

Dad and lad to cycle around the world in 365 days…🤯🚵

We are delighted to announce we are exclusively representing and working with the incredibly inspiring George and Josh Kohler -

The Norfolk duo cycled across the USA in 2022 and are now embarking on the ‘trip of a lifetime’ to visit 25 countries. They are fundraising for UNICEF and raising awareness of men’s mental health.

George Kohler served in the British military until 2014, and his son Josh is a filmmaker.

In 2021, the novice cyclists cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats. The following year, they rode over 6,000 kilometres across the USA from New York to San Francisco, raising over £7,000 for the Royal British Legion’s Battle Back Centre.

Platinum Live is handling the campaigns media strategy, press office function and campaign support pro-bono as part of our annual social value commitments.

Keep your eyes peeled for this incredible story appearing across national and international media in the coming twelve months.

Josh and George set off at the end of March - on a trip of a lifetime!
