Rounding off our 2020 Top 10 we've picked Shanti Celeste's compilation for Love International Festival's 'The Sound Of' series. We really missed being at festivals last year as I'm sure the rest of you did, one of which we can't wait to get back to being Love International (fingers crossed it will go ahead as planned this July)... This LP brings together a bunch of tracks that encapsulate a snoozy day on the beach at Tisno finished off with a night at Barbarella's. This particular track is our favourite of the bunch, which after a little bit of research turns out to be a re-release from 1996 on Frank De Wulf's Growth label... Corker!

2020 was a great opportunity for young up and coming DJs and producers to focus on their music and we saw some great tunes come out from some new talent who are going to be up to some serious stuff over the coming years. This includes this particular EP from Leeds' Alfie Jack and Manchester's Josh Baker, which came out on Constant Sound at the end of the year and smashed the charts across the board. This one's near enough sold out everywhere now but keep an eye on them as I'm sure there'll be some more corkers coming out very soon!

Although it's a bit of shameless self promotion, we thought it would be pretty apt to include our 10th release in our 2020 Top 10. We were absolutely buzzing with how it came together. 4 originals from one of our favourite producers Mark Ambrose including a re-release from 1997 and three other new tunes to boot. It's been our second best selling EP to date and is still available to buy on vinyl at Juno Records and all of the other usual platforms. It will also be available digitally very soon!

We're into the second half of our 2020 top 10 and for number 6 we've chosen another compilation, this time from US house master Callisto. Sadly no longer with us, Callisto had a string of impressive tracks on one of the most influential stateside labels, Guidance Recordings. Co-founded by the one and only Gemini, this was the platform for Callisto's back catalogue, which the entirety was released on. Guidance Is Internal is a huge 6x 12" comp and is totally worth shelling out for. Timeless classics ahoy!

The number 5 spot in our round up of our favourite records from 2020 is Bushwacka's 'Listen Up' LP... Compiled fully of his own productions and remixes from over the three decades, featuring a number of his many aliases and groups, it's a must have for fans of his inimitable, no nonsense tech house! It spans across 4 vinyls with all the oldies from labels like Plank and End having been remastered for your aural pleasure. Cha-ching!

P.S - If you haven't checked out the live streams he's been doing throughout lockdown, they're definitely worth tuning in for!

Next in our 2020 top 10 is the second release from Tristan da Cunha's Hearlucinate imprint! It's a filthy four tracker featuring tracks from Ron Obvious, Freakenstein and Tris himself. I'm sure we'll be hearing some more juiciness from this label during 2021 and we shall look forward to getting our ears around it 😎
