STOP PRESS: we’re excited to announce that we’re able to open Wainhouse Tower for three ascents next Wednesday 13th December at 10am, 11am and 1pm!

If you’re not able to join us for these ascents, don’t worry - we plan to open Wainhouse Tower again from Spring next year, both during the week and on weekends, with online and over-the-counter ticket sales; so you’ll have more opportunity than ever to climb to the top and see the views for yourself!

🎵 To ignite the festivities, the Ripponden Junior School choir will grace the stage at 11:45, spreading holiday cheer.🎵
🌨As the sun sets and evening arrives, the talented soloists from Rishworth School will take the spotlight at four o'clock, captivating us with their enchanting melodies.🌨
But that's not all.... 👀from seven o'clock our very own Ruth will take the stage to keep the festive feeling going🎄

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tracey Wilcocks as our new Chief Executive of Overgate Hospice.

Tracey has worked at the Hospice since 2014, most recently as the Director of Clinical Services, working with the clinical teams to ensure that everyone in Calderdale impacted by a life-limiting illness receives the very best care and support.

Since May 2023, Tracey has been Interim Chief Executive of the Hospice, showing exceptional leadership through significant changes and developing the Hospice’s five-year strategy.

Tracey said, “I am honoured to be leading Overgate Hospice at such an exciting time in its history, as we work hard to ensure that the care we provide, and the facilities in which we provide it, are fit to care for our community for the next 40 years. I look forward to working with the team of incredibly talented, dedicated and passionate staff and volunteers as we continue to ensure the people of Calderdale have the very best care when they need it most.

“As we continue to navigate our way through the cost-of-living crisis, the Hospice faces a challenging time as we strive to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation whilst ensuring equitable access to our services for all in our community. Throughout my time at Overgate, I have been overwhelmed by the incredible support that the people of Calderdale give to the Hospice, and I look forward to leading this exceptional charity.”

*official post* The Elland light switch on is at 4.30pm on Southgate so we’ve decided to show the Snowman, Friday 1st Dec at 5.30pm (this is to make sure we’re not clashing with the bands, choirs of Elland on the evening) we will open the doors at 5.00pm come in, get warm, get a tea or coffee (for £1!) and get ready for this magical Christmas screening on the big screen (The Snowman will start at exactly 5.30pm! ❤️) we will ask for a donation of £1 for admission, just for the cost of electric, heating etc 🥰 let’s get some footfall into our little town, there’s lots of things happening which you can check out on the Elland community events page 😊 hopefully we’ll see you there (also 1st come first served basis, we can only seat so many) Thank you xx

Don't forget! It is our Christmas Craft Fayre this Saturday (2nd December) here at Project C**t! There are going to be lots of stalls from local crafters, cakes and bakes from Food For Families, a face painter, C**t Community Choir are going to sing, there will be a hot food van outside, Barista made drinks, a demonstration by Serenity Wellbeing Gardens plus more! And we are delighted to tell you that the Mayor and Mayoress will be attending from 2pm! You do not want to miss this! All welcome!

Well done to Project C**t, another award for this hard working local charity!

Project C**t have just been announced as King’s Award for Voluntary Services winners and then last night won the Award for Breakthrough of the Year in the Calderdale Community Spirit Awards 2023 sponsored by Calderdale College. If you have not been and visited yet, get yourself down to this thriving community at Elland Bridge. You will get a warm welcome and take part in a variety of programmes, from horticulture to art, barista training, and crafting, making it a place people love to be. There is also Food for Families, a Bike Library, collaborations, and the training programmes which have touched many lives and supported people to be happier. Congratulations Project C**t
