This summer English Heritage's Legendary Joust and Knights’ Tournament will be returning to Pendennis Castle!

On 30th July-1st August and 13th-15th August, four fearless riders, will try to best each other and be crowned champion. Visitors will be able to interact with characters, find out what medieval life was like and young lords and ladies can even test their aim with some ‘have-a-go’ archery.

On 6th-8th August and 20th-22nd August, another four brave knights will have their sword-fighting and archery skills put to the test. Visitors can see them don their armour, prepare for each round with their squire and enjoy the living history encampment set up around the castle - complete with medieval musicians and fire-breathing Jester!

Winging, wing dinging, wing foiling, wing surfing…

There are lots of funky names for this exciting sport. It’s a mix of windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding and foiling – and it’s a lot of fun!

Stithians Lake, near Redruth, is an accredited Royal Yachting Association wing centre and probably one of the best and safest places to learn or to progress in winging in Cornwall. It’s one of the UK’s windiest inland waterways so lends itself to winging, and you don’t have to worry about tides.

A wide variety of plants has been gracing the undercover planteria at Trevena Cross since January. Growing consistent plant stocks year round ensures supply is never an issue, and yet it is this time of the year when the garden centre becomes a real feast for the senses.

The emphasis on grow-your-own has been taken to a whole new level in one of the nursery tunnels this year. There is a tunnel dedicated to growing a wide range of food for the Palm Tree Bistro, which opened on site on the 16th March, celebrating quality local – largely Cornish – ingredients, as well as produce grown in the nursery at Trevena Cross.
