Disruptors issue 3 launches this International Women’s Day. As we eagerly prepare for the third issue of Disruptors, Violet Simon’s magazine-book series showcasing stories of women challenging the status quo for positive impact, here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes for the photoshoot.

Through our work at Violet Simon, we are contributing towards closing the gap and ensuring that women’s stories occupy more than just 0.5% of narratives. Every voice matters, and our stories are significant in shaping a better society and human experience.
Another standout moment at our year-end event on Going Against The Grain, was the in-depth conversation between our founder, @sophiaukor and @lady_unchained where they delved into various aspects of Lady Unchained’s life journey. This discussion covered her time in prison, the challenges she faced, her post-prison experiences, and the remarkable milestones she accomplished against all odds.

A highlight of our “Going Against the Grain” event was the powerful conversation with @sjdelagarde, who shared her experience since a life-changing accident in which she lost her arm and leg after being run over by two trains.
Sarah’s story marked by her authenticity, vulnerability and unyielding determination to triumph over trauma, serves as an inspiration for us all. One of the things her experiences teaches us is that, in the face of adversity, we possess the power to redefine our lives and that, even against formidable odds, we can go against the grain and forge our own path towards thriving.
