Azerbaijan jails 21st journalist in 15 months amid intensifying media crackdown

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) condemned the arrest of Shamshad Agha, chief editor of the independent news site Arqument.az, and called on Azerbaijani authorities to release him and at least 19 journalists and media workers from some of Azerbaijan’s largest remaining independent media.

So sad - even angry - about these latest cuts. The BBC World Service is an incredible and respected around the world as one one of the UK's best brands.
I also feel for my former colleagues who are dedicated, loyal and work so hard to report global events accurately and fairly...often at great personal risk.
