Shared from RBBC - the Harlequin Arts Takeover is going ahead, but with changes to the venue.

We are delighted to be bringing you the Harlequin Arts Takeover week from The Belfry shopping centre in the heart of Redhill, following the temporary closure of The Harlequin Theatre & Cinema. Most events are now taking place in a unit located just opposite the lifts on the first floor. Big thanks to our friends at The Belfry and The Children’s Trust for helping to make this possible at short notice.

From flow poetry, performed by an award-winning show-opener for Stormzy, to discovering the art of what makes great crime fiction, Arts Takeover Week has something for everyone. Please check individual events on our website for full details including how you can get involved. https://orlo.uk/0Rd5r

Election update

In this year’s Reigate & Banstead Borough Council elections, the Conservatives have lost two seats to the Greens and one to Labour. The council is now: Con 23, Green 11, Residents 6, Lib Dem 3, Lab 1, Independent 1.

The Labour gain was in Redhill West & Wray Common. The Green gains were in the two wards of Horley East & Salfords, and Hooley, Merstham & Netherne.

A third of seats, one in each of the borough’s 15 wards, were up for grabs this year.

More will follow in today’s newsletter, which will be out this evening. I’d guess around 9pm. David
