Founded in 2003, The Heatwave have toured throughout the UK and performed internationally in Europe, Canada, USA, India, Australia and Jamaica. Their explosive live performances have been a regular fixture at Notting Hill Carnival over the last 10 years, playing on trucks, soundsystems and local afterparties.
They have grown to become a bonafide โmust-seeโ feature on the UK summer festival circuit, playing Glastonbury, Lovebox, Reading and Leeds, Bestival and Boomtown in recent years. Their notorious Hot Wuk party is one of the UK's longest-running dancehall events, packing out venues all over England since 2009 and selling out KOKO on carnival weekend four years in a row.
After 15 years building a name in the upper echelons of the UK dancehall scene it was a natural progression for The Heatwave to start making music. Drawing on years of experience playing to crowds of all backgrounds, The Heatwave have crafted a sound that stays true to dancehall foundations while adding their own unique London twist.
The Heatwave's third single โWalk Out Gyalโ featuring Mr Lexx and Keida was shortlisted for โBest Track of 2017โ at Gilles Petersonโs Worldwide FM awards. The video for club banger โCloser To Meโ with Stylo G was shot in Jamaica in summer 2018 featuring several of the hottest dancehall queens from Kingston and premiered by Link Up TV. Their releases have been supported by David Rodigan, Seani B, Toddla T, DJ Target, Bobby Konders, Mistajam, Tim Westwood, Robbo Ranx, Annie Mac, Ras Kwame, Sian Anderson and more.
