It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to do a passion project. I had a little seed of an idea I wanted to try out and managed to grab an hour one evening to make it happen down at Sandbanks. Nice to play around with ideas which in my whirlwind brain then lead to more ideas. Trying to summarise this trip in 10 slides is tricky.
set out to break the female world record for running the length of Ireland - Malin head to Mizen Head - 347 miles.
Horrible weather the first couple of days and very rolling terrain gave Sophie a tough start. She blasted through 24 hours but she’s only human and by the second night things were hurting and sleep deprivation was kicking in. I was so impressed how she would sleep on the side of a road for 10 mins and when we woke her up there was zero moaning or whinging, she just got up, necked a caffeine gel and off she went. Apart from a few short naps she literally didn’t stop.
In total I believe she slept just over 2 hours across the whole challenge. She even started losing her sight at one point in the early hours of the third night but with another power nap she was off again. Sophie broke the record by 3 hours and my god did she work for it. You’ve got to have another level of drive and “why” to put your body through that.
So Sophie, thank you for asking me to be a part of this adventure. It was an honour to capture it all in photos and film. And hats off to the rest of the crew as well. Thanks for all the laughs and for being lovely people to spend a week being completely sleep deprived with. It can go either way in these situations but I loved every moment. Also all the people we met along the way and the Irish hospitality was amazing.
It has taken a little while to bounce back after this one from the lack of sleep then straight into being busy with lots of other work. Totally worth it though. Oh and one last thank you to the lady who followed our crew van tracker and delivered us some home made cookies. They were epic!!

Chasing waterfalls in Iceland just before Christmas. The location in the first image gave our kit a serious waterproof test. Damn tricky photographing in there as the spray and the wind was so strong that the lens was caked in water in seconds. My passport and a new book (Diary of a CEO by - worth a read!)were in the top of my camera bag which I forgot. They got pretty completely soaked! A mad 48 hours in Wales last week with , running in quarries, swimming in waterfalls and generally having a bit of an adventure. I’ve shot round Snowdon a few times but wanted to find new spots. A big big thanks to and for having me along for the ride to crew them alongside the awesome . An amazing but intense location in Salton Sea, Borrego Springs and Palomar Mountain. The girls ran 81 miles through the desert with 9000ft of elevation in the second half. How they did that in 38 degrees heat blows my mind. Any breeze was like a hair dryer in the face. Super proud of how they dug themselves out of the low moments and finished strong with a top 10 place. I love doing these events for the people you meet. I crewed with who runs conservation projects around the world but also heads up conservation projects in the desert we were in so knew it so well. I learned so much and having someone who cares so much about the natural habitat we were in was amazing. Thanks to for putting on an amazing event with all the event crew being so helpful and welcoming. Can’t wait to come out to California again in a few weeks to do the same again but over 135 miles in Death Valley 🥵 .unitedkingdom
Badwater Salton Sea prep is well underway. and I flew into San Diego and did the 2 hour drive into the desert yesterday. It’s 38 degrees and stunning! Can’t wait to help crew them in this race and capture some content. Currently sorting a kit explosion into some order and about to buy a serious amount of ice to carry in the car for them. 81 miles with 5500 ft elevation in the last 9 miles 😳

A bit of time out before things start getting very busy again. A nice mini adventure with my brother inlaw with some hiking, a dip in the river, the worlds biggest rib eye steak, some camping and back home. Nice to test some@new kit out in the cold
A few shots from a very cold morning with . The car was reading -8.5 degrees when we rocked up. We were the only ones around and it was bloody brilliant. Sunsets are great but there is something about sunrises when no one else is up and about that makes them feel that much more special.
A few weeks ago I had a fun 48 hours in Snowdonia capturing some shots with for some content for e bike company .bike. It was a lot of fun blasting around the trails and beaches on those bikes.
