++UPDATE++

Yes, we had more problems this morning. As I mentioned the other day, it's not always DNS and sometimes it is just plain old equipment failure.

Having issues over the weekend has also slowed things down, however we now have shiny new equipment on the way to replace the ailing component after a wrangle with our provider because I DO know a little bit more about what's gong on than someone reading a script and a manager trying to save a buck.

So we'll do our best to keep the music pumping in the meantime, please be patient.

Hi there,
aside from working on the internet problems at the studio, Jools has also been delving into the problem with launching the UK Sounds radio skill on Alexa. Whilst Amazon are speedy with your parcels, getting a response from AWS.... not so much.

Ultimately, the "Fix" is HOW you ask Alexa to play the station. If you've been getting linked to "Indie Sounds" then Alexa is getting confused and trying to connect you to a now defunct station, likely on TuneIn radio.

If you ask Alexa to "OPEN UK Sounds Radio" or "OPEN UK Sounds Radio from UK Sounds Radio", Alexa will re-bind the correct phrase to our station and we will be back with you.

And A.I. is supposed to replace us... 😂😂

Jools has put together a one hour showcase of some of the top artists who are no longer with us in a segment titled "Remembering the Greats" and for part two of The Tech Guy Radio Show, something a bit different.
Instead of the three in a row, it's the Tech Guy Showcase giving you an insight into a band or artist you may not know. This week, it's the Finnish Rock band, Poets of the Fall.

There's a saying in IT, "If your pc won't connect, it's DNS".
I wish it was as simple as that. However it did play a part in our technical issue this weekend and the only way to properly find and resolve was to take the drastic measure so that I could diagnose and fix the problem.

All seems to be working well now and UK Sounds will be back on air tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.

Studio M is having some technical difficulties so today's programming will end early after the Awesome Mix show to give Jools an opportunity to jump in and find the problem.

We have been experiencing difficulties with Alexas radio skill the last couple of days and Jools has taken drastic steps and reset it. So it may be offline for a few days but you can still tune in at out website www.uksr.co.uk, on google devices or via the myTuner app (small point to note, the app also works on smart tv's!). So don't worry, we're never far away.

Now a couple of announcements. As mentioned in last nights Tech Guy Radio Show, this Sundays Kevin Lee show will be the last. Kevin is moving on in the radio world and we wish him luck for the future.

And our own Mike is opening a Blues Bar on Sundays at 5pm from October 4th to play the best smooth music you could ask for.

Good morning and what a morning it is.
After the sweltering summer it's feeling a lot crisper now and we're all feeling a little more comfortable.

This evening on The Tech Guy Radio Show, Jools is revisiting a comment made by Micky Austin of Greenwich.
Recently, he showcased the album, "Thriller" and Micky was quick to defend "Off the wall", Michael Jacksons album from 1979.
So Jools is tonight going to play the entirety of "Off the wall" from start to finish with a few tid bits as well as his usual three-in-a-row artist selection.

So tune in this evening at 6pm and the show is repeated at 6am on Friday morning.
