🧵The lowdown on threads so far! 👇

💟Threads is a shiny new text-based conversation app but you can share links, photos and videos! Not totally sure the appearance of Instagram urls/YouTube links are fully optimised as yet...

☑️ Thread users will need an Instagram account to log in. Once they have signed up, they can choose to follow the same accounts they follow on Instagram, if they too have joined the new app. Or it is a great excuse to start from a blank canvas...

🔸There is currently a character limit of 500 characters

🎥 Videos of up to 5 mins in length can be posted while a post can be shared as a link on other platforms.

❌ Users can unfollow, block, restrict or report others. Users can also filter out replies with certain words in them. The same block rules applies for Instagram.

🔜 There isn’t currently a chronological feed option but I predict there will be one soon!

⚠️ You cannot delete your Threads account, without deleting your IG account but they’re looking into a way to delete your Threads account separately to IG. In the meantime you can deactivate.

🥰 There are the same community guidelines as IG

🔁 You can re-post your thread as an Instagram story or post... or repost or quote other people’s threads on your threads feed

💭 So far it is all very un-curated as people are finding what works and what they like on there.
