⭐️ Instagram announced two new Instagram ad formats ⭐️

🔎 Search ads: Instagram plans to launch ads in search results in the coming months. For example, if you search for “silver jewellery,” you will see relevant ads within the search results feed.

🔔 Instagram is also launching Reminder Ads, which are designed to make it easier for businesses to announce, remind and notify people of future events or launches that they may be interested in.  This can be great to build awareness and anticipation for upcoming events.

🎧Purchase Optimize Podcast by and Savannah Sanchez. This is a great one about Facebook and Tiktok ads, Dara and Savannah share their insights about creative strategy and the industry.

🎧ECommerce Impact by Jessie Healy. Love Jessie’s interviews with founders and industry experts. There’s a Q4 episode with Jessie’s team where they share great advice.

🎧E-commerce MasterPlan by Chloe Thomas. A must listen for anyone in ecom. Chloe invites industry experts and entrepreneurs who share their insights.

How to improve your website conversion rate?

💡Review the checkout process both on mobile and desktop. Does it flow easily? Ideally, you want customers to check out in less than five steps.

💡If you aren’t offering it, add a guest check out option. Don’t force people create accounts.

💡Add payment icons for increased credibility and trust.

💡Make it clear how much shipping fee customers will pay or if you offer free delivery. Ideally on the product page but if you can’t do that, add thid information before initiating the check out. Noone likes to fill in their details only to find out they need to pay £5 for delivery.

PS: Free delivery has a huge positive impact. If you haven’t considered it yet, I highly recommend testing it.

Paid social and search ads are all well but at the end of the day, if your website is a leaklng bucket, you won’t reach our goals. When people land on the page,your website needs to convert them.🤩

So today I want to share 5 tips to increase your website conversion rate:

-Make your add-to-basket button stand out from your background or other elements of your site.

-Can people check out in under 5 steps? Make their shopping experience smooth and give them the option to checkout without creating an account (ie guest check out)

-Don’t make them guess what the delivery fee is. Lay it out clearly with all options and show it on each product page.

-Remove social links; they distract people from purchasing.

-Add social proof, use review apps or press logos if relevant.

Will Facebook/Instagram/Google ads work for me?

I get asked this all the time. Whilst there are a lot of factors that determine the success of ads, I only recommend starting advertising once you’ve got your foundations right.

What are they?
💡You have a proven product ie you’re getting sales without ads.

💡You have established social media channels. By that I don’t mean thousands of followers but you should have at least a couple of hundred followers so that you come across as a credible business both for the ad platform and potential clients.

💡Your average order value is at a minimum of £30-£50.

💡Your website conversion rate is at around 1 to 2%

💡You have a minimum budget of £1000-1500 and happy to commit testing ads for at least 3 months.

Instagram will now allow all users to tag products in their Instagram posts, starting with users in the US. This feature was only available to approved creators.

It’s hard to measure your growth if you don’t know where you’re starting from.
Jot down your current number of followers, how many comments and shares you’re getting on average per post and track these regularly so that you catch jumps or dips in engagement that can give you an understanding of what’s working and what’s not.

🤩Create and share valuable content
Think “conversation” not “broadcast.”  Make sure you address your audience’s needs and pain points and invite them to engage with you using interactive content.

🤩Keep response times speedy
You can pre-compose responses to common queries for Facebook and Instagram. Don’t forget, a speedy response can increase customer satisfaction and more sales & leads.
